f a i l u r e i s n t f a t a lwhere there is life, there will always be death.  Mutants, no matter if they were pacifists or killers, have always been feared in the world. They were always stronger, always better. They were the new face of humanity from the moment they were born into existence, and the regular humans lived in fear of them because of that. They were no longer at the top of the evolutionary chain.
”Why does it have to be this way? I don’t want to die!” she screamed.
The drugs kicked in and the girl shut up. The assistant turned to the doctor and murmured, “They’re afraid of us.”
“Isn’t that obvious?
The Geneticore Corporation is one of the most powerful and influential biotechnology companies in New York City. Their research has paved the way towards cures for cancer and treatments for AIDS that are breakthrough. Their perfect corporate exterior hid their other operations. Biological warfare is one of Geneticore’s most profitable ventures. Their earnings have allowed them to pursue their own more devious experiments.
”PLEASE DON’T KILL ME!”
The owner of Geneticore, a man by the name of Kenneth Overman, has been one of the most outspoken critics of allowing humans and mutants to co-exist. Having hired a bitter doctor by the name of Lucia Gutierrez, Overman began a new project aimed at forcing mutants to do the bidding of humans. By implanting computer technology in their brains he hoped he could force them into slavery. It worked on the lab animals, but in human testing - illegal testing, of course - the first results have been…less than acceptable. After kidnapping a young teenager by the name of Cora Keller, who at fifteen could lift five tons, the implants led to her eventual death by brain hemorrhage.
”We cannot stop the experiments,” the doctor said. “I am close to a breakthrough.”
“Find another subject.”
Mutants will have to push their differences aside to fight the beast that is Geneticore. Failure used to just mean a loss, but failure will soon mean slavery or death. The corporation is searching for a new subject while the mutant community is oblivious. Dr. Gutierrez is well aware of the Xavier Academy, as well as the Brotherhood. They are the target, and soon they will have their mutant slaves, or else more dead mutants.

Failure Isn’t Fatal - The X-Men Academy is a long running Post X3 RPG with a flair for being outside the box. We are an intermediate-to-advanced, PG-13 RPG with many long time members. We have recently returned from a hiatus and we are looking for people to play canon characters - Wolverine, Storm, Magneto, Angel, Nightcrawler - almost all are available. So stop by, look around, and maybe you will find your place in the action.
