Currently the site is only taking canons unless the originals are Friends of Humanity, since there are literally thousands of canon mutants in the X-Men world.

The year is 2007 and it has been almost a year since the disastrous events at Alcatrez Island. Hundreds died the day Magneto attacked the Worthington Lab and realised his grave mistake in letting loose the Phoenix. Many other mutants had the cure forced upon them. For weeks after, the X-Men mourned the passing of three of their number but the school was kept open under Storm's leadership with the help of Logan and Hank McCoy.

However after a few months the cure proved to not be as affective as it was once thought to be. It was wearing off. But the shocked X-Men have more to deal with than this, mutants who had been thought to have died were reappearing everywhere. Those who died at Alcatrez, those who died at Liberty Island, even Scott Summers and Charles Xavier. No one can explain this sudden Resurrection.
