Hello All,

I am an old O&G player who plays for fun. I have one friend who I play with (erm... against) constantly who plays Dwarfs. Our games are fun and we have played on and off for about 5 years now. Before that, I came from 40k (played for more like 9 years) in which I had a main Blood Angels army, but also Necrons, ImpG, Orks, and Iron Warriors (yep, that's how long ago that was...). So I guess I've kinda seen a lot of strats and play styles for 40k, but not many WFB. Recently we got 2 of our friends to agree to play WFB (they are brand new to the game) so we decided to start new armies and play a Warbands Escalation League with them.

I'm making the switch over to daemons because after the crazy unpredictability of my O&G army I think it's time for a bit more steady of a group.

I've never played Warbands, so it'll be different, but I'm looking forward to it. We are doing it to encourage the newbies to be careful with the army and not just buy a bunch of stuff all at once until they understand the game better. Anyway, I suspect it is gonna end up affecting my overall army selection so I'm excited to let people know how it goes! We may even add a little RPG element to it which should make for some good Battle Reports and a little bit of story line!

Anyway, if you all have any suggestions about where I should start, and some ideas for an end-goal army let me know!!! I know very little about Daemons now (don't worry, I'll be lurking the forums reading up for the next little while) and would be curious to hear everybody's thoughts, especially considering it's going to start out as a Warbands thing.

I third those remarks! in other words... welcome!

we're generally a friendly bunch, the only thing that gets us "riled up" is when Khorne demands SKULLS FOR THE SKULLTHRONE!

It's pretty hypocritical to deride GW for valuing their pocketbooks over what's good for the growth of the hobby while you are buying on ebay and playing in your friendly local gaming store.
