The Herald of Tzeentch is needed so I'm looking for alternative models and original conversions. I'm not really an expert on Tzeentch and how they should look but I noticed that some of the older Tzeentch models for the chaos warriors were actually shown as "faceless" or "cyclops"

Just look at the models for Tzeentch champion with book and tzeentch champion with 2 swords for example.

So this ofcourse got my conversion heart pumping and I found this beauty in the dark eldar section...

Now with some proper wings on its back (any plastic suggestions?), some more demonic arms with a nice looking book and a big staff with icon from the pink horror kit I think this could end up looking very cool.

What are your thoughts?

Good base to start your conversion. I suggest for wings you have a look at the Dark Eldar scourges: Scourges They have some nice feathered or leather wings. I look forward to seeing your work.

Scourges was exactly what I was going to suggest too. Tyranid Gargoyles are another option if you want leathery wings, and there are a lot of different ones available as bitz packs also.

Come on Tzeentch!

Do you like words and pictures arranged together to tell a story? If so, check out my battle report thread here.

Cool model to start with. I like the mask on his hip, gives me an idea for my Changeling model. Maybe give him a scroll in his gun hand that drops down to match the flow of the robes. Interested to see how it turns out.

I think it could work, more importantly if you have the funds, just try it and see! It already sounds like you have your heart set on it! biggrin.gif

I have used some of the feathered Scourge wings for my daemons, they are ideal. They have a couple of wires on, but nothing that can't blend in well. I also got mine from the wonderful world of Ebay for cheap. I suggest looking there if that's all you intend on buying! ^^

Lol I wouldn't mind you stealing my idea. If I wanted it to be unique I wouldn't have posted it so by all means go at it.

I have stolen my share of awesome conversions for my Skavenarmy in the past and supplied a good share of conversion ideas as well.

I haven't bought any models yet because of the incoming nurgle models rumours that have been popping up more and more.

I think the heads of the kroot hounds work pretty good for tzeentch heralds; they are quite small and look pretty much like birds.

K as soon as I get the feathered wings this is a go. Must say for conversions the bits needed for a Daemon Army are hell to get.

Getting the bits for a decent staff is hell as well.

I don't know if this helps at all, I don't know whereabouts in the world you are based! biggrin.gif

Dark Eldar Scourge feathered wings

As for the staff, maybe chop up and existing one and use one of the Blasted Standards from the GW site to top it off?

Haha! I usually get my stuff from there too, well worth it I say! I've also used Bitzbox and Bits and Kits too, both seem ok, when they have stock in that is! smile.gif

I emailed that guy cause he ships only to england and I live in the Netherlands.

I have some more info about my conversion ideas.
Basicly the gun will be replaced with a hand holding a ball of energy or a flaming ball and the other hand will be holding a sword staff or a double bladed staff.

This is the style I'm going for:

Ball of energy will probably end up a greenstuff ball sculpted around these 2 bits:

The smoke not being smoke but being part of the energy that is being created in the wizards hand.

This will probably be my swordstaff or twinblades. A swordstaff can't have a big Icon on it else it becomes unwieldy so I would have to think really hard on what to add to the end. Maybe just a sphere with the eye of Tzeentch in it or something.

Oh btw Hawke is kind of how badass I envision my Heralds to be:

but it's a good idea none the less... when i do yet another hotz, i will probably do something like the first guy, he fits more in line with the theme of my army as it stands anyway
