In my gaming group we have just begun a new 6 player tournament that will take place over the next 4 weekends (the first one already happened, therell be a total of 5 games)

In the tournament are:
William as his lizardmen
Ricky as his dwarves
Paul as his high elves
Kyle as his orcs
Kian (me) as Daemons Rock_emoticon.gif
And eli as warriors of chaos

The first games were as such:
Me vs. Eli ( crushing victory for Daemons)
William vs. Kyle (CV for lizzies)
Paul vs. Ricky (either a CV or a SV I'm not sure!)

The points are as follows:
Crushing victory 4 points, this happens when the winner has 3x as many vps at the end.
Solid victory 3 points, 2x vpoints
Draw, equal or a bit less
Loss, 2x less
You suck, 3x less

You get not tourney points for a draw or less.
You get 8 points at the end for a completely painted/based army.

Now here's the battle!

I played eli the first game. He's got a brutal list that's got a lvl 4 with a 3++ save as well as two Tzeentch warshrines that are hard to kill. He also has two blocks of 30 khorne warriors with 4 attacks each. As well as a unit of 9 knights with an exalted. Needless to say I was scared...

My list:

Bloodthirster: 540 points
Firestorm blade
Spellbreaker
Armor of khorne

Herald of khorne 190 points
Juggernaught
AoK
FB

HoK: 165 points
BsB
AoK
FB

HoN: 215 points
Palanquin
Stream of bile
Noxious vapours

HoT: 165 points
MoS (lore of life)
Spellbreaker

39 bloodletters but I paid for 50(???) lol. 655 points
Icon of endless war
Full command

32 plaguebeares: 439
Icon of seeping decay
Full command

5 flesh hounds

3 nurglings

3 bloodcrushers

1 fiend

1 fiend

Just under 3K

This is even more amazing now that I realize I overpaid for my list and will now be taking a more savage army to the rest of the tourney...

Anyways we rolled for terrain and got some crazy stuff. An acropolis of heroes, a bane stone, flaming barricades, a poison thicket (claimed 7 warriors in game) and a fence.

The acropolis was right in the middle of the board and the bane stone was right on the flank.

I deployed first with both fiends on my left, the bearers to the left of the acropolis, the letters to the right with the hounds on their left flank, the thirster was right behind the acropolis, and the crushers were to the far right, the nurglings went to the left.

He tried to match me sort of, but he left a HUGE hole where the acropolis was, which was a huge mistake since my thirster could fly right up the nice tunnel he'd made for it smile.gif

He rolled for first turn, which did nothing since we both had no shooting, he marched forwards eager to show his immortal buddies how to fight (tsk tsk). He rolled a 3 for the winds and I dispelled his pitiful spell. Oh and four warriors died in the toxic woods!

On my turn I made all my charges except one. The fiends charged a chariot that was conveniently out of the charge arc of a marauder horde. My letters and hounds combo charged
A lone block of 35 warriors in horde with the sorcerer in there. My crushers failed to reach the knights which made me cry, until I saw they had no lances. Lol.
The BT flew up the gap and I saw eli's face contort as he saw the mistak he'd made, now I could get rear charges and such at will.
In magic I rolled about an 8 I think, I cast flesh to stone on the letters an it got through, then I cast awakening of the woods onto the warriors in the forest killing 3-4.
In combat he went first, which was terrifying, something like 60 attacks in all! Yikes! Luckily only one hound and four letters bit it (T5 was a life saver!) then I hit back. Killing 10 warriors, he was not happy when he saw all the killing blows I got through, even though S5 only gives him a 6+ anyhow! The fiends did no wounds and received none.

On his turn he charged with his knights. I wasnt too worried. He sorta wheeled his other block around, making them take another 3-4 casualties and they now faced the bloodthirster.
In his magic phase he tried to cast the withering but I broke the spell, then he cast the signature spell of shadow at my BT lowering it's I by two...I didn't bother to use DD on that one! In combat he killed another hound and four more letters, but I killed about ten more of his warriors. They'd lost frenzy and so were far weaker than normally now.
The biggest combat was the knights and the crushers. The herald and the exalted went simultaneously, the HoK killed a knight, the exalted dealt a wound. The rest of the knights then attacked and did nothing, not a single save was thrown against them. The crushers went, and the riders + mounts killed another 7
Knights. The remaining exalted and knight fled from the table.

On my turn I charged a warshrine with the crushers since it had attacked my letter's flanks. The fiends finally killed the chariot and the BT hit the back of the marauder horde.
In magic I got Thorne of vines and flesh to stone onto the letters again.
In combat the letters killed everyone but the sorcerer and two warriors, but the acropolis made them stubborn. The crushers dealt 4 wounds to the war shrine. The thirster killed 8 marauders and took a wound! NO I was getting worried about NOT getting a crushing victory at this point since he'd gotten into a combat with a S5 horde.

On his turn he didn't move, he cast some spell that I broke and I dispelled another one. Then his sorcerer and it's unit died in combat. The warshrine did as well.

My turn.
I moved all my right flank khorne towards his remaining units, surrounding them entirely, with monsters behind and ranks in front he conceded the game to me right there.

I got 4 points for a total victory!
I was quite pleased with myself after that battle, especially when I realized I'd taken too few models...

A couple of things:
I really liked using the BT as a distractor. He was terrified of it (it's forgeworld) and he would wheel to face it, wasting his precious time. He also deployed to try and force it to hit a warshrine...that failed.

I also felt like my magic defense level was right where I wanted it to be and I cast the spells that I needed to to win the game. Without T5 my letters would have been toasted by the sheer number of attacks coming at them then.

Thanks for reading and I'd love any suggestions you have to help me improve my play!
