I think your VC playing friend needs to be more grateful or paint his own damn models!!! Both Fell Bats and Dire Wolves are perfectly usable when you know what you are doing with them. As for the basing, the green matting isn't to my taste, but I think it makes sense to base them the same way as the board you fight on. In my case I game at clubs, GW and sometimes tournaments, so I can end up playing on a variety of surfaces. For that reason I usually base my models according to what I think their "homeland" would be like, or their most common battleground, so sand painted brown or grey is what I usually go for. Anyway, I think the bats and the Dire Wolves look good and in the wolves case I much prefer your colour scheme to the "official" one, which really puts me off the models.

Come on Tzeentch!Do you like words and pictures arranged together to tell a story? If so, check out my battle report thread here.

All ungratefull friends can have their attitudes adjusted with the proper application of violence. Khorne knows it, Nurgle knows it, Slaanesh knows it, Tzeentch knows it, and now you knows it. -Tremendous

| QUOTE (God of war @ Apr 18 2012, 12:52 PM) | | Wolves, spirit hosts and bats can really annoy your opponent while the good stuff goes to town! |
A bit OT, but I love using spirit hosts vs O&G!!! Drop 2 or 3 single bases and let them release the fanatics. Then just walk up into base contact with the fanatics and the manglers to get rid of them. And there you sit totally unscathed! Dirty!!! Anywho, back on topic - Great looking VC stuff DR!

Bahahaha! Love it!
Always good to see some more fun paintjobs coming out of your neck of the woods. Everything is so colorful and unique!

I really love the paintjob on the dragon. Although there are a lot of colours on it, it's not at all flashy. It suits a black dragon very well! Nice ideas on swappable characters too. Might have to remember that one Greetz, B.

@God of War - Well we've just gone nuts with magnets around my neck of Wood as of late. My friends have magnetized all Warmachine-crews for their armies - for starters - and below is Another highly flexible Little Creation: The ZombieGheist ^Right. So that ridiculously huge base went out the window. I just couldn't take it. Not particularly proud of the paintjob, been playing around too much with the new washes and glazes. The Little fellas are naturally all magnetized as demonstrated below: ^Putting a GhoulKing on this thing makes it into a TerrorGheist, and I would have assembled it as such if it hadn't been for that damn sadle that's just plain needed for the alternative Vampire rider. FYI if I had built this model to be a Terrorgheist I might have used the original base, seeing as its all crawling on the ground as opposed to the ZombieDragon. ^I have to say this Vampire was the only part of this Project I really enjoyed painting for some reason. Actually half-pleased with him.. ^The GhoulKing has a special Little magnetized 20mm base all for himself, should one feel like Fielding him in a unit. For the Vampire I magnetized an old Chaos Steed which admittedly is a bit small for its rider.. but it's all good. This concludes my painting of VC stuff for the time being. Got some Squigs of different shapes and sizes to put color on, and then I might have enough solace to go back to my beloved Daemons. Cheers!

Thanks TheMorbidAngel (!) and welcome to the Forum while I'm at it! I must shamefully admit that I haven't fielded that Horde in a serious game thus far. The game size required to actually field that unit means you're in for a day of gaming - and occassions like that are not easy to throw away on something so abyssmally 'uncompetative' as a Horde of Crushers. But it's been a day dream of mine for the longest time, so if you stick around I'm sure sooner or later I'll post a batrep where you get to see that unit in action. @ Noisy A: *hehe* Yeah your exclamation is duly called for. What I got ahead of me right now is ~30 Squigs and a couple of Herders.. After that I think I'll tackle maybe 6 Mangler Squigs (I think you'll like these, with your penchant for conversions and all). Oh well, all in due time.

It's been too long since I made an update to this thread. Didn't get much time to work over the summer-months. Vacation and other distractions got in the way of 'what's important in life'! Then when I got back from it all, in August, the Daemon-patch showed up like a kick in the nads and made me question 'Why I'm even wasting my time with this..' for a while.. I've actually gotten over the SoulGrinder being added to Fantasy. I haven't accepted it enough to actually buy a model *haha* but I'm getting there. The stuff that happened to Screamers and Flamers are harder to justify.. but that's for Another thread I suppose [just rest assured I won't be painting any of those for the forseeable future]. As a mean of proving to everybody that I'm recovering to my former self of being a total blue-eyed GW-fanboy, here's a couple of pics of those Squigs I mentioned in my last post: ^ There are some official models mixed into that unit, but the vast majority of these Squigs are 'home-cast' and I bought them unpainted from Forum Member God of War back when I also picked up some of his awesome greenskins (much better painted than these tbh!). ^ With the addition of these Squigs to our local OnG-army we'll finally have a fully painted (and quite gigantic) horde of 40+ Squigs. Since we usually don't play with unpainted models I have rarely seen such units in action, but I suspect it'll be a blast to see them on the table and they should be able to go toe-to-toe with my Daemons even.. (!) ^ Also scooped up this motley crew of Hoppers from the club-house. It was about time somebody put some paint on these characterfull Little fella's. Oh the character & and Comedy of Orcs and Goblins! You rarely see new models with so much Life and vigour. The paint-job is just tabletop-standard of course, but let's have a closer look anyway: Right. It'll probably be a while but following my strict Schedule I Believe the next Project of note in this thread will be a bunch of Mangler Squigs. After that, gentlemen, and Believe it or not, I'll actually go back to painting Daemons for a while! Cheers!
