The Imperial Guard Heavy Weapon platforms are all mounted on a 60mm base, however the rules say that two models forms a team.

must they be mounted on a 60mm base?

beacuse

the older models diden't, take the Armageddon steel legion
missil launcher, that was two seperate models, and not a 60mm round base.
