may i suggest a monthly poll?

my hunble suggestion is but thus:

have a monthly poll. one "offical" poll a month. each month inbetween the polls is spent discussing what to vote on next. some of the questions could be of use to gamesworkshop, as group surveys can be quite expensive.


for example:

should there be one more deamon selection that is for everyone? (like the current fury option)

should there be a rare option to add a deamon prince?

if a deamon prince is allowed as a rare option, should special selections be disallowed, to add balance?

design a new undivided demon


......




eventually, there would be a chance to affect the game directly. the idea is to hope for temporary rules in a magazine like white dwarf, or perhaps the online games workshop site, to keep deamons fresh, a change of pace if you will. this would be backed by the number of votes, and how fair the things we vote on are.

even if nothing is affected, it would still be interesting to see how other people feel.

.......the goal is to become the poll that all people that are active in warhammer, and play demons, will know about, and "check in for".

I've been watching the topic - I'm not really that excited by the option.

Is there a poll someplace that you regularly tune into? I don't even vote in all the polls on the forums that I'm a member on - I don't know that anything would make me go to another forum and check in on the results.

well, this poll would have to be made from the mods of this site. like a signature. like...david letterman's "top ten" of sorts. not really excited?

if the ball got rolling, perhaps over the span of a few months, it would impact the designers of the game directly. not some mere posts on a site, that you hope they see (and they do read various forums). i'm taking about a poll that GW would actually look at, even if they did so like a scared girl watches a good horor movie.

it would just matter about the questions. i would recommend that the questions/poll at first have a chance to impact as many as possible (like another undivided army choice like furies). and during the monthy vote, a thread could be opened, or even a whole forum, to dicuss the next possible topic to take to the offical poll.

We're just not seeing a lot of 'rules add ons' out of GW for the last 7-8 years.

I don't think we're going to see any for an army list like daemons that many folks are already compalaining about as overpowered.

As we've seen with 'ogres being overpowered' 'knights of dol amroth models stinking' (highest model sales in LoTR the year they were released) etc. we the forum goer aren't a great source of accurate data.

But if you are interested - you are welcome to start a poll and put it in your sig.

not all additons are all extra.

for example:

a army choice that takes away all special options, they would not be allowed if one were to take some of the new option. or even no rare and no special, or just no rare, etc. balance is possible.

advanced examples:

imagine a minor demon that carried around a mini wheel of fortune. you could spin it. where it ended up would help or hurt you. of course there would be people to try to fix it so it would always be good for them, amoung other problems.


the warhammer game has no real feedback. save for ranting, enraged posters on many boards.

lotr is still doing business? i have not seen one game played in 2 years. and my shop keepers mumble about not selling any, and how they will dump it all on ebay cheap.

Hmm, I'm not against running this up the flagpole for a while to see who salutes it. Let's keep talking about a suitably catchy name and some good topics and I'd gladly put it in my sig and pin in on the forums. If enough people link to it in their sig while on other sites we could possibly get some decent responses. I'd call it a success if we started out with 50 responses in a week at first. I'd love to see hundreds of responses but you've got to be realistic.

how about a way to bring in titan class things to demons. like the choas mammoth. i know about the spined horror, but it is not THAT large. something more akin to titans.......(im making a greater deamon for my slaanesh army, and it only stands about 6 1/2 inches tall....)
