At the time, I played mortal chaos and beasts, so daemonic legion was just a natural progression at the time.

Well, I started with Dwarfs. When SoC came out I started to collect Slayer Cult. I really don't even know when I got the nurgle bug. It just came from nowhere. At first, I am a hardcore dwarf player, and in the next moment I'm putting together a list and converting models. It must be the nurglings. No-one can resist their allure.

So, remember when you are feeling very small and insecure how amazingly unlikely is your birth. And pray that there is intelligent life somewhere up in space, because there is bugger all down here on earth

This is actually my first WHFB army, generally i have collected 40k (Eldar, Dark Eldar, Black Templars and finally Imperial Gaurd) But I have always liked the daemon models and they can be used in both WHFB and 40k so it made it felxible for me.

A: Well, to make it a fair fight, I'd have to wait until the end of the universe and i bet you arn't gonna be nearly as concerned by then.

Well, I actually started demons because of 40k. I was just beginning my Slaanesh Chaos Marine army (back right when third edition came out, right in the ending days of second edition 40k) and decided that I would like at least two squads of 10 demonettes. The main fantasy player in our usual group at the time kept bugging me to play fantasy (I had a tiny dark elf army at the time). So I decided I'd start up a slaanesh demon legion (slaanesh has always been my favorite of all the chaos gods, I'm a sucker for the love of music and art angle, which is why I think noise marines are awesome). This was back when my two main regiments of demonettes cast spells as if they were a level 4 wizard And my regiment of six mounted demonettes was a level 1 wizard. Ah, those were the days So, I had a Slaanesh demon army that I played for a while. When the hordes of Chaos book came out they neutered my army to the point where I just couldn't play it (no mounted demonettes at the time), so I got a few chaos warriors (and later some beast herds) to make it playable. But I mainly concentrated on my Dark Elf army at this time. Fast forward to around last january. I decided I would start a Nurgle demon legion when I found out about the Storms of Chaos demon legion list (I was so damn excited, my demonettes would see the field without some warriors following them). After getting enough stuff to make a 2000 point army, I went for Tzeentch next since I use to borrow someone's flamers when I fielded my old Slaanesh legion (back when flamers were a ranked up regiment with movement 9!). Midway through collection of Tzeentch I started up the Khorne army as well since I really like the models for Khorne (hate the new flesh hounds, but I have some of the old ones). I am in the process of replacing all of my old demonettes with the new ones as well (I ran out and got 40 of the new ones when they came out). I'm selling off thirty of the old ones to a friend who is getting back into fantasy (he had to sell all his stuff to raise money), and using the money to get more of the new ones. My plans for the future are to add 1000 points to my Khorne, Nurgle, and Slaanesh armies. This would bring the Khorne army up to 3000 points, the Nurgle army up to 3000 points, and the Slaanesh army up to something like 4500. Thus is the history of me and my demon armies!

My steps toward DL...
1st - I have played two games of WFB - both with borrowed armies. 2nd - The guys in my Blood Bowl League play a lot of WFB. 3rd - Getting bored with 40K, though I love the chaos... 4th - Recently worked in a game store so I learned a lot more about WFB and got a LOT of bitz. 5th - I don't have a lot of money to spend these days. 6th - Converting is my favorite part of the hobby.
... so I'm building an all bitz box and greenstuff DL. Tzeentch to start then maybe some Nurgle. I am not going to buy any miniatures for it, but force myself to clean out my bitz bins.

I aslo started with dwarfs...or actually not. I have spent more money than anyone in my age on warhammer....I have collected every army there is for both fantasy AND 40k....and I'm 16...started when I was 13. At the time of the release of the Storm Of Chaos I was collecting dwarfs and decided to go for a slayer cult....then suddenly out of nowhere I decided for a slaanesh daemon army I think it was when I was painting ONE daemonette for a friend of mine, I thought it was soo much fun and just loved it. That's when I decided to collect slaanesh

It's a long road -
Back in 1990 I was introduced to this Rogue Trader game by my buddies. Soon we started wtih Warhammer Fantasy Battles (2nd ed.)
I thought the idea of dark and nasty undead was cool so I started with them, but they were too slow. Motivated by the Silmarillion I moved on to noble and fast moving elves - but they were too squishy.
Shortly I moved on to Chaos (which was a bit of everything then) and over the next few editions my one time impressive host of demons, monsters, mortals and beasts was pared down to the mortal army I have used for tournament play for most of the last 15 years. I also have 3K of an orc and goblin list I play because it's so different from chaos.
I love my mortal list but I've been gradually getting ready to move on - Daemons or Beasts is the big question. I have lots of either from previous editions of WFB. I'm a bit torn on which direction to go - beasts are very differently tactically but daemons seem like more fun to paint and convert.

It's pretty hypocritical to deride GW for valuing their pocketbooks over what's good for the growth of the hobby while you are buying on ebay and playing in your friendly local gaming store.

Well dad taught me how to play since I already was intrested in fantasy games and WHFB. And dad wanted an opponent that would be available 24 hours a day. So when I was twelve year that means seven years ago dad helped me when I was painting my first Chaos Warrior. Hehe. I was chaotic already then. But soon my intrest for WHFB grew so I begun hanging out with those who played WHFB in my neighbourhood since dad did'nt have time to play as often as I liked to. Even now I sometimes have a battle against him. I have had periods during these seven years when my intrest was almost gone but it has always returned stronger then before. It has even survived two girlfriends. But my current girlfriend does accept it even if she thinks it's strange when a fully-grown man is playing with dolls !
