Thanks for the comments - I'm really having fun with the unit. When they are in skirmish mode, the still seem to have the right feel. I suppose it will be like those old Voltron cartoons - they'll join up and form that blazing sword, and kick some tail. tongue.gif

This army is great, actually inspiring me to go with a Pappa Nurgle DL army after my Slaanesh one.

Congrates on the award also, well deserved.

That is just great, this unit should definately earn you some painting prices.

Did you treat the wood in anyway?

Thanks, SB! The wood was cleaned with a brush, but mainly just the final sealants to protect it.

Yes, rice and glue basically - aka "Rice Maggots". Some of the results are posted in earlier pages of this Diary.

I like those models, I guess they're classic GUO's.
It would be interesting to combine those with some parts from the new spawn box, especially the arms.

I really like the classic GUO models, there is something about the retro style that really appeals to me and i think that they are going to make great Beasts of Nurgle.

Using the Rice on the bases is Ingenious! ohmy.gif
Hope you don't mind if i borrow the idea if i add some PB to my army. wink.gif

Thanks for the comments!

@Sexy Beast - they are indeed classic GUO's - I want to maintian their "classicness", so I won't really have too much of a conversion going on with them. Should be able to update in the next few days.

@Slaanesh - Thanks! Glad you like.

@hexter - yay! Another supporting vote for classic GUO's! If time and $$ permits, they will have some of the new beasts of Nurgle as pets. Glad you like the "rice maggots" - a few other folk are going that route too - so go for it!

Wow - taking much longer than expected just to have the time to paint! But, I am putting off the video games until its done now!

Update:

Assmebled, but the one on the left really bothered me how his right arm was positioned. So I bent it every which way, broke it a few times, and at least got it to look like below.

Along with these models, I'll try and do a step by step on how to paint up the rice maggots. Right now, they are glued in place with white glue and primed black with the rest of the model.

Good job repositioning the arms and fingers like that - it really improves the look of the old unclean ones (mine came with one arm that was dragging limply behind him and another that was sort of waving faintly to the front, making him look like a drugged tourist guide or something blink.gif ).
The beast with his arm raised upwards looks really awesome now, should be even better when you've smeared some more paint on him. cool.gif
