Just thought that I would post this to let people know that the 'ard boyz preliminaries are coming up on the 28th. The list of locations is not posted on the GW site, but the way that they got hosted at our local store last year was asking the manager to do it. He looked into it with his rep, and we had a tournament. That said, it might be too late for lobbying to pay off at this point.

Unfortunately, I can't go this year because I have to make a trip back home to visit the folks. It was enough fun though that I'm calling the hobby store up there to see if they are a hosting venue, although I don't think that I saw them on last year's list. Looks like a perfect venue to give those nasty new eighth edition forces a test drive though.

It would be nice to have a list of locations. I just volunteered to work August 28th weekend. . .shesh

It's pretty hypocritical to deride GW for valuing their pocketbooks over what's good for the growth of the hobby while you are buying on ebay and playing in your friendly local gaming store.

I'll see what I can do to turn up a list of locations-- I'll email my LGS to find out where it might be.

@Finnigan I hope you dont mind me posting here just to lessen the threads.

Guys

I have an ardboyz question do you think they are going to let us do the allies rules?
its kinda interesting for example We can have two lord choices:

Bloodthirster w/Armor of Khorne,Immortal Fry -490

Chaos Lord MOK w/-Jugg-275

Total=765 pts. or 25.5% Lords

Im just curious since We rarely get to play to tourney thats not "COMP"romised
I am thinking of maxing out the tenacity of my list.

Let us know what ya all think.

thanks

Karl

Hey Karl, I can't see why there is any problem with you posting here. It's just a spot for posting tourney info. I'm pretty sure that you probably won't be allowed to use ally rules. My reasoning is that the ally rules seem to be intended for multi player games. I do hope that they allow allies in future tourneys around here, but it's not part of the "culture" here. I don't think I've ever played in one here that was a team sort of thing. Unfortunately, my local gaming store (that I've been to twice this week) didn't have much new information.

Assuming that you can't field allies, I'd advise skulltaker. I used him last year, and he's pretty tough. He's not a lord, but he is very nasty. Also, for this year's tournament, I'd advise a 'Keeper or a Lord of Change (Kairos). I just think that they're the optimal choice for an all in tournament now.
