I wasn't sure about all those Heralds myself, but if you are taking that many you must have a plan for them. I assume part of it is because they can help boost the tally up quite quickly with their breath, and also because they will help you cut through power armour.

Blight Drones are great models and hard hitting, glad to see your tournament allows them.

Given its the second beneift available on the tally, I'm not sure you really need the Noxious Touch's, particularly on the DP who will wound most things on a 2+ anyway. Not sure what you could get instead, maybe a few instruments? I find they are quite useful for driving enemy units off as Plaguebearers tend to draw a lot in combat.

The only other thing I would consider is combining 2 of the Plaguebearer units into one larger one, as sometimes even 7 Plaguebearers isn't enough and can be dealt with by Tactical Squads and the like.

Well, the tournament is over. I palced 16th out of 22 and I'm very happy with that. I expected to come last (first 40k tournament ever after all).

I DID however win sportsmanship and that's the real win anyway wink.gif

The heralds performed very well, but there is really no reason not to have them on palanquins, that extra wound is a godsent!

Epidemius tally went up to full blast 3 out of 4 games, one was vs a mechanized IG army so didn't make a difference there but the other two times were VS marines and it worked wonders.

I'm with you on the 14 units, 7 sometimes felt a little small, but mostly VS IG (with 100-200 shots per round).

Next tournament is at the end of january and it'll be 2000 points. I'm probably switching in two of the heralds for Ku'Gath, he can really help boost the tally smile.gif

Cheerio!

Congrats! Sounds like you're going to go far with the daemons with the improvements you're bound to make.

Also, how come you don't use nurglings? Sure, they can't hold objectives but with the tally going up I imagine they'll become quite the threat...

Sounds like you did quite well, and the Sportsmanship award is the prize all true gamers covet the most! laugh.gif

Ku'Gath will really add to the hitting power of the army, and I think increasing the two units with Icons to 14 each will give you some units that will be a real pain to shift. Opponents will then have to choose between concentrating on the larger Plaguebearer units or Ku'Gath, as killing off both in one turn will be very difficult.

If you end up with less than 100pts once you have made any other changes to your list you could do a lot worse than take some Nurglings as Zechs suggests. Against poor to average close combat armies they are just as good, maybe better, than the Plagubearers, but when you start getting 2+ to wound for them or better still ignore saves they will rip through almost anything. smile.gif
