Well, finally I'm back home. It has been a looong summer and I had time to buy, assemble and paint my first daemons. So, I won't say more by now, let the pictures begin! So my first painted daemons were these letters. They were the tryout to get some army schemes, as they were used also to decide how would the bases look like. I kept the red a bit dark and with the black horns they were ok. Tongue went purple for some reasons: close to red, in pair with Slaanesh and Tzeentch mates, and the opposite of yellow, another colour that dominated with all that amounts of lava and magma. So finally swords were painted almost like burning steel and very similar to the base. Some close-ups: The standard will be finnished soon, it needs some kind of symbol or draw in it, but I want to wait and see how the army goes until paint something. The bloodreaper is distinguished as it walks over stones and it's the only with metal in the horns. That way I can keep the more brutal head for some easy herald projects, as I did with my daemonettes (you will be able to see them soon). That's it, I just want to say.. omfg! How difficult is ranking the letters!!

Message was getting too long and I didn't want to loose it for some weird error, so I better split all the bunch of pics in different messages. Here we go with my second work for the legion.. the movement trays!! They were made with the new item sold in GW, where you can decide the number of miniatures and how wide, .. I think it's good and not so expensive, let's see the results. Borders (and some interiors) were just painted with the base scheme. Unit gaps were also marked with a highlightened border, just for fun! Now my future units had a place to stay in the army (well, more than stay, to move). And finally, the last painted model by now, a cute ride called Juggernaut. The base was a bit over flooded by lava, but the huge base asked me for that. Rocks were added to easy fix the jug and to give it a more threatening pose. I was going to paint it red but didn't want to look the same as the rider (which will be painted soon and as his walking mates) so I went for the bronze and silver. As the fluff tends to say, a charging mass of living metal. I think it looks great and I'm happy with the result. The collar was painted as burning steel as well as I thought of it about the tool to dominate them (well, the riders are in contact with it), so it will look like his sword in the other hand. So, comments?! All opinions and suggestions are always welcome. And let's see if more pics are coming out soon. Ah! By the way, last weekend we had a tournament in my village organized by the local shop. There were 3 battles where I got 3 massacres, but one against me (vs. daemons), so I scored 3rd overall. At least I won with the best painted model in Warhammer category!! I'll try to Battle report something, always fun and useful at the same time. See you all soon!

I think you could have gone lighter with the collar, as white hot metal. But that doesn't degrade your job.
It's like the rock under the jugger's hoove is cracking and lava is flowing through... Great work on everything!

For the pleasure of Slaanesh! My manner of thinking, so you say, cannot be approved. Do you suppose I care? A poor fool indeed is he who adopts a manner of thinking for others! My manner of thinking stems straight from my considered reflections; it holds with my existence, with the way I am made. It is not in my power to alter it; and were it I'd not do so. Not my manner of thinking but the manner of thinking of others has been the source of my unhappiness. - D.A.F.Sade

Indeed, our models look alike . Your bloodletters are really sweet. Nice blending and colour choice! So are your bases, very eyestriking. But the colours on the bloodcrusher change too drastic. The colour choice is right, but the yellow (on the shoulder pads for example) should have been blended more. Espacially because those are large surfaces and the most eyestriking. Did you use washes on this model? Then again, certain areas are painted very well, especially the face and collar. Hope to see more of your work soon! Bjorn.

Here I am, once again. I've been a bit arround in my village, and I'm also preparing myself to start the second year in the university. That's why I took time until this update (not so big). But I hope the next ones come a bit faster, as until the 29th I don't start taking classes. Today I'll show you the finnished Bloodcrusher, with the painted rider. The bloodletter keeps the scheme of his walking comrades. Note that this pictures were taken indoor, so colour always can change a bit, but I think they look good enough. Next works: - Masque - 20 Daemonettes (18 normal ones and 2 Heraldish) - Bloodletter banner I'd appreciate some ideas for the banner, as I want something catchy but in theme.. not sure if the Khorne mark would work.. or.. argh! For the Slaaneshi models I'll show you my first test models and I'll ask for advices. First I want to try what I have in mind. There are the four pictures. Thanks to all, once again! Sorry, I don't know why it doesn't let me update with direct view pictures. You have to enter links to watch them. Edit: I got it working in the end!

Wow, Khatsoo.... I'm having MAJOR Deja Vu over here.... I just recently finished a bloodcrusher model to act as a herald in my new Khorne Legion and our colour schemes are practically IDENTICAL. My letter is the same dark red with the purple tongue and black horns. My Juggernaut is EXACTLY like yours, being steel coloured at the interior parts like pistons and piping and brass on the outside. Your model looks better though. I'm a fairly accomplished painter but am DREADFULLY slow, so with this army I decided to paint beneath my standards and use a lot of washes and very little highlights to speed things up. And actually, I even used wood stain on the juggernaut... Blasphemy, I know! I'm fairly happy with how mine came out considering how little work I put into it, but after seeing yours I feel a pang of regret that I didn't "do it the long way". I can't believe how bang on our schemes are... Other than the weapons, which I painted as normal metal with a dark wash and silver highlight, and the bases (mine are more of a srubland theme) they are just so similar. Like I said yours looks better hands down, but the colours we chose are pretty much exactly the same... Anyway, looks awesome. I LOVE the bases. I originally conisered doing something similar, but decided against it as I want to complete this army within about four weeks time so the simpler I keep things the better. Good work! Keep the pics coming!

Haha! I'd like you to send me a link so I can see your crusher, well and pics of you're whole army would be cool also. And I'm doing the opposite thing as you're doing. I want this army, MY army of Daemons to be a well painted army (my best one), slowly and with care. I want to play with it as well, but I want to be able to keep it as a collection of models or whatever. Thanks for your words anyway.

Thanks Drazol. I bring you today an idea for the Bloodletter banner and The Masque WIP. I hope you can give me advice and opinions for both. Bloodletter Banner Preview: I wanted to keep two things: the mark of Khorne (as in the Nette standard it's already molded the Mark of Slaanesh, so to don't get many difference and as it already distincts the unit better.); and the lava theme. I thought about this and I liked it a lot, if I don't get many comments and suggestions on it I'll probably start trying to paint it tonight or tomorrow morning. And second one, The Masque WIP: (sorry for the blur in the second photo) I painted the skin and the claws. I wanted a purple scheme over all the Slaanesh models, but with a more lighted skin. I went codex grey, purple wash, cg, cg+skull white, sw; for the skin and liche purple, lp+ bleached bone, lp++bb, .. but I guesss I'm washing it in purple. I lighted with bone as it got too look as hard/strong claws, and not just dark extremities and limbs. I'll probably paint robes in black and silver and gold (mostly silver) arround. Not sure about the hair.. I tried white and purple highlights but I don't like it a lot as it confuses with the other parts.. I hope anyone can suggest me something, I'll be looking arround for ideas as well. Thanks in advance!!

I couldn't resist. Really, I couldn't. I'm sweating and my eyes hurt, but here it is. I'm proud enough, my best free hand again. I think that each one I do is better than the previous one, I guess it's normal.. So.. comment please! And suggestions for The Masque!!
