ok, I'm going to start a new thread that will have all of my daemons in it rather than having a new topic for everything I do.

I've pretty much finished the two heralds, so I figured I'd post them here. I'm still waiting for the 50x50mm bases to arrive, as well as some of my basing material that I want to use on my Daemon army. So they are still on their plastic stands for now.

The green wash loses a bit of effect in the photo. It doesn't show the green under the yellow as much as it does in real life, but a huge improvement on what it was before.

Next up is Moon Face.

Here are my two Greater Daemons. These were not painted by me, they were done by a mate who gave them to me when he quit the hobby a few years ago.

He even scribed a 5 pointed star into the rock on the base.

Cheers.

Not sure what I want to do next with this guy. The only thing I am happy with is the skin tone and the right sleeve. The blue coat and red robes I'm kinda 'meh' on. Perhaps adding some orange to the red would help it out a bit. I'm also undecided on the feathers around his neck. Pink, like the bird herald, green to tie in with the sleeve.......

Any ideas?

i think the green in the sleeve is whats throwing you off. i'd either change it to something else or change the red to tie into the sleeve. i think the red looks better though so of the two routes, i'd redo the sleeve. i like your models though, the color schemes have a very "5th ed throwback" feel to them!

Ok, I'm willing to try that. The model has been mocking me with it's unpaintedness for a few days now so it is about time I made some progress.

I think I'll also try pink feathers for around the neck, and see how that looks.

Thanks for the help and the kind words. smile.gif

Ok, mostly done, just one or two minor details to do on moon face. Just about ready to base the models. I will do that when I do my bloodletters.

Thanks for all the advice.

Those are nice! Really 'OOP' old stuff. Like the Flying Circus of Tzeentch coming to town. Wish I had some of those models.

The one in the middle looks good. I would suggest giving the pink and yellow discs a wash of red though. I just think they're a bit monotonous right now. Other than that, like you say, get some facial details into that moon-face guy and you've got yourself 3 really cool disc-heralds.

Agree with the above; the pink might need some red in the recesses (was that spelt right?). Otherwise I really like those heralds, very varying and so is their scheme. Will be interesting to see the horrors, whenever they come.

Thanks guys.

Been building my Demons the last week or so and based them today. Next up is a coat of black, then I think I'll start on the Letters (which by the way, I found terrible to rank into a nice square unit. I thought my Phoenix Guard were bad ohmy.gif )

And here is what the finished bases will look like. All credit goes to Scar from the Warhammer Forum for his inspiration with the bases on his Ogre army. I am just waiting on the Army Painter tufts of grass to arrive, then I'll plonk a few of those down on the bases when they are done.

Thanks.

It's too late now, of course, but if you decide to make more Bloodletters at one some point in time I can strongly recomend re-adjusting them so that they rank up more easily (because yeah, the out-of-the-box Bloodletter is virtually impossible to 'rank up').

It means some extra work when assembling them of course, as you need to 'straighten' up their hips (where the torso fits onto the legs) slightly, and also re-adjust their arms (you want the swords pointing up! And many of their 'free hands/arms' benefit greatly from being slightly adjusted as well so that they run closer to the body - and within the 'limits' of the base!).

This means you to apply some carefull cutting, and a Little bit of Greenstuff on each model. It takes a while to perfect it. I Think I did a pretty good job with the last batch of Bloodletters that I did myself.. but the first batch I re-adjusted like this was hardly seemless.

The Army is coming along nicely though! Looking forward to see pics of painted stuff starting to Surface in this thread!
