Yes, I looked at the pinned article concerning base sizes but have been hearing info from other sites that the new plastic Daemon will have a monster base size and not the ogre sized one. Has anyone else heard this? Are players still using Daemon Princes on ogre sized bases? I look forward to your comments!

Put the Prince on either, its pretty moot arguement either way. The advantages/Disadvantages for it are trivial at best. And if you're actually using a Prince, noone is gonna care what base size its on... wink.gif

So just base it on whichever size one you think looks best.

Mines on a 50mm base because shes the most stable that way.

I'm 100% sure it's the 50mm base for the new model, as seen in the WoC book. I'm going to use 50mm. wink.gif

When a model has US 5 or more it comes with the 50 mm base.
As the Deamon Prince has stil only 3 or 4 wounds it goes thus on a 40 mm base.

Referring to the US and bases in the general rulebook.

It's pretty hypocritical to deride GW for valuing their pocketbooks over what's good for the growth of the hobby while you are buying on ebay and playing in your friendly local gaming store.

Belakor is also on a 50mm base and he is but a Daemon Prince.

But Belakor is a "special case" - being a 5-Wound Daemon Prince (IIRC) the first and strongest of them - actually - it's arguable he's not even a "Daemon Prince" - per se - since...was he ever actually a mortal ? I don't think so. He's basically a very powerful Daemon Spirit of Chaos - that existed from the dawn of the Chaos Powers (very old).

So...anyways...I don't know you can really consider him.

As for the Base Size - there's no benefit to make them 50-mm bases, from a D-Player's perspective, as they aren't all that great a unit and likely won't want to be engaged by MORE enemies (not less !) due to a larger base size.

If they did an update - re-do of the D-Prince's rules (to more closely mirror the WoC version - where he's actually "sort of good" - then it would be a different story.

But then again, that's what Daemons do best.

Correct Belakor is a special case (in the same way that although Greasus gold tooth may be on achariot type base that doesn't mean all ogre tyrants are on that size base)

Anyone want to put some money on the base size of the new plastic DP, if/when it becomes available?

I'll give some great odds.

My money is on 50mm.

Anyone?

Given they made up completely new base sizes for the giant and dragon in their most recent plastic releases bets are off for the future at least from me smile.gif

All the daemon prince models GW has released OTHER than belakor were on 40mm
