You've done an excellent job with that model. Skin-tone is a fair bit darker than what is usual, but it looks good.. Looks 'real' somehow, like the sort of pigment you'd be likely to develop after thousands of years being tanned by eldritch fire..

To echo what the good Mr. Reign has said the skintone is very realistic, in fact the majority of your colours are. It's looking good biggrin.gif

thanks for the positive replies. Anything else I could do to improve the model or anything for future (bloodthirster maybe) models?

I think perhaps the one thing I would change looking at it again is his eyes. It would work better if they were a contrasting color to his skin, so they stand out. Even a white could look good!

Perhaps maybe trying lightening up the highlights a tad too, but it really does look cool biggrin.gif

Your bone/horn/metal/cloth is good so I won't hold back on the critique..

Most of all it needs more skin highlights. It looks like perhaps you painted it a base color and inked/dipped it black. I would advise if you want it a realistic dark skin tone you highlight from a dark brown to red and ink or wash in browns. From where it is now I would just advise very gradual highlights to a lighter red.

Anything left a solid black looks unfinished. Pick a color or metallic.

I'm not a fan of the glossy look. I would hit at least the wings with a matte spray.

Thanks for you input Hulabell & Colonel. Indeed I need to work more on the skin tones. I'll try what Colonel has advised on my next model. Thanks a bunch guys!

I get the painting approach but despite that I think you need a bit higher highlights. Do it in very thin layers or with some glazing and you won't spoil the aged brown skin look.

Attention to detail and some of the wash work is excellent

It's pretty hypocritical to deride GW for valuing their pocketbooks over what's good for the growth of the hobby while you are buying on ebay and playing in your friendly local gaming store.
