The CHAOS WASTE COAST battle..., Largest Apocalypse game...

As I trudge through the SoCal GW League Fantasy side and 40K side, and Game Empire Pasadena League's Fantasy, and the local RTTs and Official GTs, my mind wanders onto bigger, larger, grander things...


Apocalypse has truly brought me and many friends into the 40K world, and have have made, many, many more friends because of it! Another aspect of the hobby has taken hold of me, and the calling of my Dark Lord Khorne has been answered!!!

At my local gaming store, GMI Games (Riverside, CA., US) there is a slew of very good players, and some average and newbs. Of them, most have 40K Armies that range in the 10,000pts+ easily...and we've had several Apocalyptic battles there because of it!

When Apocalypse hit the shelves a few years back, it was like a revelation to many of us! Since then, I had a "Birthday Bash" about a year and half ago, that featured 10 players, and well over 120,000pts of models on the table for a lot of crazy gaming, pizza eating, and dice chuckin'!!!


Recently, I've started a "Blood & Skullz Crusade" where I've faced off 1-on-1 against another Chaos player and pitted our forces against each other, to see whom rules the dark reaches of the Maelstrom...a storyline has developed...my first game it was my Chaos Space Marines and Daemons (mostly Khorne) facing off against Paul's Chaos Space Marines Nightlords (mostly Tzeentch now). 26,000pts of ferocity and fun hit the table in 2 fun days of gaming...but in the end I was victorious, in a crushing style never before seen in an Apocalypse game!

Weeks later I met and did battle with Robert and his 16,000pts of Chaos Space Marines w/small mix of Daemons (Iron Warriors) and after 3 Turns he was forced to concede...and the storyline has continued to develope!


This coming January, a very good friend and fellow brethren in Skulls and Blood, Anthony Tanner will be making a drive down here (SoCal) from his home (Seattle, WA.) for a week or so vacation, and he's going to bring his entire Khorne Army!....now it easily rivals the size and mass of mine, and it's ALL KHORNE!!! We've been talking and always wanted to team up together to have an epic sized Apocalypse game, but the timing and venue and opponents has never lined up right, until now!


Continuing our storyline, Anthony and I are joining forces in the name of the Blood God, to push forth our "Blood & Skullz Crusade" and attempt to conquer the other Chaos Factions that are controlling parts of the Maelstrom! Now it'll be Paul (Night Lords & Death Guard), Robert (Iron Warriors), Tom (Black Legions), Dave (World Eaters) and Frank (Emperors Children) battling against us!


I myself will be bringing in upwards of 40,000pts+ of fully assmebled, and mostly painted Khorne as will Anthony!!! We're building some very cool and themed Terrain pieces, creating some simple rules and restrictions, and setting a timely schedule of 3 days of gaming!!!

Not sure on the exact date, but somewhere in mid-January the RED RIVER SHALL FLOW!!! I'll keep ya'll up to date from week to week on how the game will go, rules, terrain, models, etc!


Oh this shall be an Epic clash, the the West Coast shall feel...

40,000 a side , wow that would be the whole collections of all my club members to field 1 side, how big an area are you using ? how much will be on the table at one time?

Actually hardrainfalling, I'm bringing 40,000pts+ just myself, and Anthony will be bringing around 40,000pts...so we'll have 80,000pts of pure Khorne (and Furies) on our side of the table!!!!


So far it looks like 5 tables (6'x4') that will be set in a specific way and have a large 18" wide 36" bridge connecting 2 of the tables...Terrain will be very themeatic, as each player is designing a specific piece representing the Legion(s) they're bringing!

I'm making a long Blood River, and Anthony has a cool, old school Armorcast Skull Bridge that we're going to place, along with several large mounds of Skulls! All the Chaos type terrain is going to represent the planet succumbing to the warping powers of the Dark Realm!

GMI Games has the largest and most varied terrain of any game store I've been to (ever!). So we'll be using some of it, along with extra pieces a buddy of mine is going to make for this special occasion! He owns/makes terrain and models as a side job, so this will be a treat!

So just a lil' update, Frank has started up his own lil' forum/website for he and his partners, where they're discussing how to defeat us! LOL!!!!



The game has been moved up to Dec 12th and the 13th, with set up being on the 11th...we're also doing a food can drive along with the folks that help run Strategicon that weekend, and with soooooo many people in the community coming to watch, we'll raise quite a bit of grub for those in need!


Some of the restrictions set in place so far are;

*Only 1 Data Sheet Formation per team
*Khorne only for Anthony and I (with Undivided allowed)
*Icons/Character Possessions are only for each player's units...no sharing!
*Team Wrath and Rage (Anthony and I) get the first turn, but have only 15 minutes of set up time...Team Traitorous Extremus sets up 2nd, but has 25 minutes to do so.
*All players may bring any Special Characters available to them...(so we're expecting to see 7 Abaddons on the table!)

wow i'd love to see something this size at my club , we have the players but just cant seem to get them organised at least 1 player has FW titans including the new big ones and i am building an eldar titan squadron and an imperial guard airship (for daemons i have a brass scorp and waiting for the new palstic daemon prince to add a lot of bloodthirsters to my apoc force)

Are you sure your gonna need all of those 3 days of play time? Because from the looks of it, there won't be ANYTHING on the table by turn 2 on either sides.

Something this huge just cannot be done without some pictures so I think we all are waiting in great anticipation.

For now, we're still organizing...had to switch Dave over to the Khorne side (since that's most of his Army) with Anthony and myself, as Anthony was over estimated on his original points...only 16,000pts to 18,000pts max!

So Dave Parker will be joining Anthony Hanner and myself as the Lords of Khorne side, with approx 70,000pts+ on our side of the table, facing off against Robert Perez (Iron Warriors), Tom Sanchez (Chaos Renegades), Paul Guitterez (Night Lords) and Frank (Emperor's Children)...all totalling aroudn 70,000pts+ as well!



With my recent winnings from 'Ardboyz, I'll be picking up a Shadowsword Baneblade to convert into the fearsome Tower of Skulls super heavy!!!! HAHAHHAHAHAAA!!!

Well, i'm not a huge 40k player, I still much prefer Fantasy over it, but there's something almost mythical about playing large Apocalypse games...like being in a movie or actual war! So long as the guys you're gaming with understand that it's APOCALYPSE, everything can and probably will die, and the object is to have fun with all (or most of) your models!



The Twisted Disciple: Our foes are truly preparing themselves, and have had several meetings and much communication between each other on how/what to take, etc. Pix will be taken by several photographer types, this is going to be such an epic battle that it deserves some reverance!
