 Obsidian armor vs armor of khorne

Okay im playing against this guy that runs lizardmen, 3k he takes Kroak, Mazamundi and Chakax, perhaps another skink priest, the terradon guy. Basicly a competitive list. Im debating what to give my bloodthrister. Obsidian armor, immortal fury and Firestorm blade seem nice. However I can change the obsidian armor to armor of khorne and take immortal Fury and Dark Insanity. Im wondering which is better, Obsidian armor or Dark insanity, either build has immortal fury so i re roll. Now do i want to negate magic weapons (assuming i run into any) Or risk it for having regular 3+ armor and up to 14 S6 attacks.

Tbh mate in my opinion I`d take the Obs armour because the 3 named characters all have magic items anyway and you can bet he`ll take magic items for any otehr heroes he may take and at close to 2k of his force that`ll annoy him more than anything, Especially against Tiktaq`to (The terradon guy) whose magic item doesn`t allow armour saves

I just think what a way to see the look on his face as his gear stops working, And i`d bet any money he`ll put Kroak and Chakax in the same unit

hmmmmmm Let me think on that one, Cos with slann mage priest temple guard are ITP which is a huge pain in the ass, and with Chakax they become unbreakable too which doesnt matter much due to the ITP but I`m sure theres something you can do I`m just not sure what at first glances

If those were the two choices, I'd probably take the obsidian armour. Dark Insanity is fun, but too random for the cost. Of course, as a lizard man player, I'd take a regular slann with a bane head and throw a bunch of dice into spirit of the forge and rule of burning iron to get by your MR. If I miscast, I'd just send the result over to one of your casters. Watch out for blowpipe skinks too-- they're nastier than you think.

Damn right they can be with their Poison attacks lol, and multitude of shots they can pump out

Their only problem if memory serves me is they have 12" range which for most of our troops is on verge of our charge especially for daemonettes and bloodletters with skull totem

As for Law of Gold, its useless on me as Daemonic gifts do not count as magical items, same for Vaul's unmaking. If I am wrong, please inform me so i can be prepared for such spells

your right mate won`t affect us at all, If he asks to see that rule its top paragraph of demonic gifts in their fluff bit.

And as for something you can do I`m not able to think of anything tbh but just trying slowing it down and misdirecting it thats my first guesses

I'd go for the obsidian as well, as the BT is going to be your main "killer" and so if the magic weapons opposite don't work, then it's bonus for you, the dark insanity is too random in my opinion compared to the armour which always works.
Here's one for you, a friend of mine plays lizzies and uses his skinks to direct my charges by fleing with them and so I expose my flancs to stegs nearby, so I use the siren standard, that messed his plans up.
His guard might be ITP and stubborn, etc... but will be at the back, ignore it for a bit, and set up for a dual charge (preferably flancs) by thirster and hounds on the other side with herald in them if possible.

You are right, although for some reason I think that they ruled magic banners to be magic items in the FAQ. If that is so, they would be able to be targetted.

I only have the Banner of Sundering, thats the only thing of worth I take as far as magic banners.

They did not rule the icons (banners) to be magic items. There is some unclear language in the FAQ about gifts/icons in general but the bottom line is nothing changed.

Correct in that answer they refer you back to page 92 which says that icons and gifts are not magic items!
They also explicitly say in that answer
"Remember that gifts may be taken more than once in the army"
