When the new Jabberslythe came out, I thought it would make an awesome GuO, and think its a shame that Beastmen are so unloved and their monsters overpriced. The idea came to me of a Jabber getting possessed by Papa Nurgle and then the whole tribe of beasts.

The Jabber is re-positioned to be climbing over some rocks, arm raised to wield a scythe. The model had terrible gaps and even chunks of pink mold stuck in the wings, and pitting all over. Finecast has potential to be TERRIBLE.. but this guys is nurgley so its OK. The upside is finecast resin can be hit with a heat gun and bent around without losing details as the GW plastic does. I took a mold of his left hand to make a green-stuff one to hold the scythe I sculpted from a harder 2 part resin. I also gave him an eye in his blank forehead. Better pics to come when its painted.

Watching this one with interest, as I too thought he would make a great GUO! Although I never thoght to convert him so radically, as the armies I might use him in will be nontraditional daemonic armies.

Here is the start of my flamers.. flames will be green-stuff

Plaguebearers will be mostly gors mutating with spawn bits
user posted image

Bloodletters will be gor heads on letter bodies. The letter bodies look like hairless gors anyhow.

Ooh, definitely looking forward to more pics of the jabber-GUO! (And for the record, there must be something in the water, because I ALSO thought GUO when I saw that model)

Make yourself a favour and convert those bloodletter hands so that you can rank them up properly. You will thank yourself later, a lot. Theme around beastmen sounds pretty intresting. With it, all daemons have similar look around beasts but get their individuality of upgrades that you give them, like tentacles etc. Its like normal warriors in that have just normal equipment or something. And those bloodletters look pretty darn scary. Have you already thought somekind of paint theme for your army?

Wow um....interesting! blink.gif

Letter gors look great....the other 2....maybe if the flamers were ungor based? I dunno, but the all gor thing seems to be going overboard....some further green stuff rotting flesh and pockmarks on the bearer gors might help there perhaps too.

I plan to airbrush them all some beasty brown color, then from extremities fade that into the color they should be like khorne red, nurgle green.

Some of my pbearers do have intestines hanging out and pock marks.. perhaps I could do more though.

Daemonettes will be ungors, size is appropriate for the crab claws. The horror arms are really long and wouldn't fit on ungors. Ungors will also be converted to furies if I can find wings I like.

Last night I whipped up this HoK on Jugger.. Timon on Pumbaa. OMG that razorgor model is terrible. I felt obliged to destroy that one gigantic eye and drilled it out and covered it with scars. Oh well.. Hakuna Matata!

Wow. You are going all beasty arent you?! I like the pumbanaught! lol!

maxmini has a great alternate big boar.

Have you seen the confrontation belial? Great beasty kipper for this army! I ver nearly considered something like the army you are doing led by him...

Speaking of which, does the jabberguo really fit this army anymore? Its kind of frog like/alien like, not really beasty. I suppose some green stuffed fur might help there though? Or beef up the rear legs with some giant cloven hoofed feet, or the cygor/ghorgon legs and feet? For that matter, why not get the cygor/ghorgon kit and convert that for various GD options?

Hey what king of pieces are the jabber kit in? Could you mishmash it with the cygor kit, ie particularily the head I guess, thats the jabbers greatest feature.

Having done mutated Beastmen in the past myself I second what others have said about making sure they rank up properly. Gors can be hard enough to rank up sometimes just assembled out of the box without adding a lot more to them.

I like the Herald on Razornaut. Personally I don't mind the Razorgor model too much. Its far from the best ever produced but its not as bad as the 'eavy metal paint job makes it look.

One thing I will say is I don't think this army will taste as nice as your last one. wink.gif

The theme is just anything from the beastman army range. In the future I might make up a ghorgon/cygor with crab claws and use it as a Keeper.

The jabber kit doesnt really come with any extras. Its Failcast!

Running a GuO I will need some beastly nurglings.. and there just isnt anything that small in the beasts army.. so I found the smallest humanoid in my bitz box.. gnoblars, and put on ungor heads and made them hooves. I thinned out the faces as much as possible with the xacto as well. Too friggn cute IMO. These have been airbrushed the rusty brown I plan to use for all the beasty skin.

My HoN is not as cute.. just a WoC nurgle dude with nurgled beast head and hoof conversion.

Here is the first daemonette. I like it but the unit is low priority now.

and this is basing material i'm considering, I have cast up a ton in dental plaster.

Those Nurglings are ADORABLE! Are you going to put them on 40mm bases though?

Also loving the HoN. Simple, yet awesome. A Nurgle-themed Beastman army is something that I'm considering for the future, and I'll definitely have to remember that guy if I ever do it.

And I'm with Talonz on the 'Nette. Something just seems off.
