So after a recent purchase (cheers God of War) I have discovered that in my Orc and Goblin collection I have a total of 24 Trolls, which lets face it probably means that I have an issue. It also means that I should (and have) pick up the Warriors of Chaos book and have a serious think about running a Troll list :evil:

So I am pretty happy with the list so far, wont need to buy all that much else apart from the Dragon Orges and the warhounds (thinking about it my Goblin Wolf Riders are not glued on to their mounts so may not even have to purchase them either) I have a decent amount of chaff in the doggies and the added bonus of taking Throgg is that all Trolls, Ogres, Warhounds, and Dragon Ogres use his Leadership of 8 in addition to making Trolls Core.

Tactic Wise not really all that complicated. Refuse a flank, keep Throgg front and centre with Dragon Ogres taking the 'far' flanks, everything gets a screen of doggies followed up by the Warshrines.
The more I regenerate (2 times a phase) I get a roll on the EOTGs table so can quickly become +1S, +1T, MR3, and a 6+ save. Of course a canny opponant will hit me with the flaming attacks first to stop regen then follow up by hitting me with everything else.
I was thinking of a goblin like tactic of creating a mounted character with dragonhelm/dragon bane gem to charge an tie up the unit that has the flaming banner (there is always one and its pretty easy to spot they go down when I place my unit of Trolls, especially in O&G games. Its just a bonus that I'll have an additional two units of Trolls on the board) To do this I'll probably drop one of the Dragon Ogres in each unit and run them in a single rank of 3 rather then in a 2x2 formation like I was planning. So have roughly 180 points to spend on them (178 actually)
Was also pondering whether double warshrines is overkill and whether I can use the points for the second one to add the character instead of the Do's (174 points) which is sounding like the better option
