Title: Another 200 pts
Description: 1 same rare, 2 same specials

God of war - May 5, 2012 08:06 PM (GMT)
Hello!

Another 2400 pts list now! Nothing to do with the previous list, it's for another tournament :)

Here goes:

1) HoT: MoS, spellbreaker, lore of light, general
2) HoT: MoS, spellbreaker, lore of shadow
3) HoK: Firestorm blade, AoK
4) HoS: siren song

1) 31 bloodletters: FC, banner of endless war
2) 31 bloodletters: banner, mus
3) 24 daemonettes: banner, mus, siren standard
4) 5 furies
6) 5 furies

1) 6 flamers
2) 6 fiends

What are your opinions?

-I wanted some more flexibility in the magic department. Shadow being mainly there to get rid of nasty low I stuff and support the daemonettes with okkam's.2 spell breakers should go a long way too!
-The bloodletters are the hammers. The 1st unit supported by the HoK, the 2nd with lore of light.
-Wanted to try the siren song, which can still wreck havoc and the siren standard to complete charges on illusive stuff. Smaller then the BL, because I don't want them too long in combat.
-Furies as deployment drops and all the other things :)
-Flamers as flank securer and 'bunker' for my HoTs
-Fiends on the other flank. As support or to hit a weaker flank and stuff.

All C and C are welcome!

Greetz, Bjorn.

Looks like a really solid list and a solid plan. I don't have any complaints other than it sounds like you're planning on putting both Tzeralds in the Flamer unit? That seems dangerous to say the least.

I think you should add a BSB. They prove to be tremendously beneficial. Also, having both you HoTs in one unit on the flank? I feel you might run into issues with them being out of range to cast spells on a unit when really needed. Two HoT with Master of Sorcery can run through power dice quickly. May want to consider dropping one and adding a HoK to the other unit of Bloodletters. Sticking to your plan, you could keep the HoT Shadow and use the Khorne heralds without much magic support. Play a few practice games before the tourney and see what works best for your playstyle. Best of luck!

I considered having a small horror bunker of 10, but where to get the points?

I thought of letting the 2nd HoT have lore of fire.

This adds a lot of potential ranged damage early on, whereas the 1st HoT takes over when the units are in combat.

Could the fiends be reduced to 4 or 5, and the daemonettes to 19?

I honestly never bunker my Tzerald and it is seldom a problem. Then again, I stick wings on him to dance around annoying things like Eagles and single Fiends, but to do that you have to drop the Spellbreaker.

Mmmh,

I must say in the last 3 tournaments (so 9 battles), I played 1 HoT with light and I was amazed at how safe he was running around on his own.

To shoot at him, they require LoS, and I'm able to make them shoot at -2 from hard cover or block LoS completely. Same for magical missiles . Direct damage spells mostly don't make a difference as they single out characters without LoS...

The plan was to let them both go with the flamers, but

1) They then become a very interesting target indeed
2) The Fire herald can go on a flank, but the Light one needs to be in the center.

How do I solve this?
My first tgought was a small bunker. This gives me acces to a lot of ranged damage (if I roll decent on the winds of course!), and I can play the light central in that bunker.

But where would I be able to save 120 pts?

Drop 4 Bletter from each unit, that'll save 122 points

zhambah - May 14, 2012 03:43 PM (GMT)
erm... 96... 8 letters = 96... to save 120 points he would need to drop 10 bloodletters in total

Scion_of_Despair - May 14, 2012 03:46 PM (GMT)
Bugger, for some reason I thought they were 16..... lack of sleep

zhambah - May 14, 2012 03:50 PM (GMT)
16 points for core models?! are you insane?

Scion_of_Despair - May 14, 2012 05:47 PM (GMT)
Slightly yes

Hey guys,

I went to the tournament yesterday. It was a team event. We ended 3rd out of 20 teams. We stranded 0,25 points short of the 2nd place :( . I led my team with 44 points out of 60.

I won 20-0 against a reasonably unexpeienced skaven player

I drawed 10-10 against the daemon player of the winning team

I won 14-6 against another daemon player. He had only his unit of 40 horrors with herald in it left. I won with 1200 pts difference, but the VP table only jumped every 500 pts!

So all-in-all they performed well, only too bad that I encountered my own daemons twice.

This is what I took:

1) HoK: general, Firestorm blade, AoK
2) HoT: fire, spell breaker
3) HoT: light, spell breaker
4) HoS: siren song, torment blade

1) 34 BL, full command, icon of endless war
2) 32 BL, banner, mus
3) 20 daemonettes: banner, mus, siren standard
4) 5 furies
5) 5 furies

1) 6 fiends
2) 6 flamers

I was really satisfied with how the 'nettes prformed. I'll have to take them bigger now! Only so so about the fire herald. i'll have to ponder about another lore, because I really liked the 2 scrolls :)

Thx for the replies!

Greetz, Bjorn.
