Title: Raging Heroes new Mantis models.
Description: Pretty much awesome looking Daemonettes

Hey guys,

I have been collecting Dark Elves for some time now and this company called Raging Heroes have recently released some great looking models for Witch Elves (found here if you are interested: http://www.ragingheroes.com/blogs/news/587...now-on-preorder ) Even more recently they have put out a picture of their newest creations, the Mantis Warriors. Which just so happens to look like Daemonettes. I'll let you be the judge....

And heres the link to them for anyone interested in ordering some when the time comes: http://www.ragingheroes.com/blogs/news/595...-out-to-get-you As this is just a w.i.p model they are accepting comments about the model and what people think could be changed on it, so far the majority of people think that the thin upper arm needs to be bulked up a bit so let them know what you think too.

Edit: just seen that I should probably have posted this in the sticky above sorry.

Hmm, kinda weird, but kinda cool at the same time. The Witch Elves that you linked to are gorgeous models, but at $5 each (with special pre-order price AND before shipping) they're even more expensive than GW metals are.

I think it's nice.
But I have a principal problem with blatant leeching on GW's property.
No big deal, you might say, but it's a bit "biting the hands that feeds you" to be buying models like this.

The Witch Elves I can understand, GW should have put out a plastic box of those ages ago.. But Daemonettes? I'm quite pleased with the official models I have already tbh.

Thanks for the headsup though!

I sure hope that is early WIP because it is so chunky. All big blocks, but perhaps that is what can be expected when it is just a CAD rendition?

It's a move towards old daemonettes and I like it. "Diaznettes" were just the way I imagined daemonettes to be, though the current work in progress model has bit too much stuff on it. Like Sherlocko sair, it looks bit chunky now, though I would still get these rather than the AIDS patients that are now daemonettes. They are far from attractive that they should be considering the fluff =P

I love it.
I find the ones now to be really nice but they lack that certain CFM appeal I think that Daemonettes should have. I want to look at a unit of 'nettes and think I'm at a strip club in hell personally!

On that note I hope if and when GW does a plastic kit for the KoS it has 2 torsos, one male and the other female. I would most defenitely prompt me to buy 2!

My lord how I hope you are wrong! :P Then you would have to kitbash to make a proper one, since slaanesh is androgyne. Or I havenīt really been paying attention to GW fluff lately, have slaanesh turned from the bad ass god of excess to something more simple sex god?

Which I also donīt really like the Diaznettes. Sure, they are cool models but they are way to female sexyness to be a lower form of Slaanesh.

I can see what you mean DaemonReign. But at the same time I dont see any problem with paying for something when people actually put some effort in and make nice models like the ones above. It would be a different matter if they were making models that were almost carbon copies and then selling them off cheaply like a kind of made-in-china system.

This.

IP infringement is a feed forward cycle. Essentially if a future manufacturer can show GW has failed to protect their IP GW essentially loses rights to their IP So that Chinese knock off company can say look nettles that almost exactly like yours are in the common realm we can make them too.

GWs IP is their strongest asset. Lose that . . .well in thirty years of gaming I have seen lots of companies go out of business leaving me with essentially useless toy soldiers/books etc.
