SPECTACULAR!

The nicest non golden daemon Bloodthirster I've seen (Victor Hardy's at the 2000 US games day is the nicest I've seen in person.)

What are the parts?

Its a Forge World Bloodthirster. They're doing a larger version of each of the Greater Daemons...

As for that particular one, I like the first picture a LOT... looks a bit... shiny though?

Sarkan - April 15, 2005 04:33 PM (GMT)
I really love that Forgeworld Bloodthirster! It is, in my opinion, Forgeworlds best model to date. I think the shine is meant to make him look sweaty, but I'm not sure..

Slicked with Blood would be more Khornate :)

beowahr - April 15, 2005 04:59 PM (GMT)
Well mate he is suposed to be slicked with blood and blood is wet or not so it shines

so... it isn't just varnished or inked or anything? :P

beowahr - April 15, 2005 06:19 PM (GMT)
Well how would you make red look like wet Blood <_<

Trogdor - April 15, 2005 08:30 PM (GMT)
Yeah buddy!! That is a really nice Bloodthirster you got there! Man, I wish I had one of these bad boys! One day.....one day. It is a bit shiney, but that doesn't detract from this one I think. I think it still looks crazy sweet. I particularly like the color choice for the wings.

In a few pictures it looks like there is some drool or saliva dripping out. Is that really what it is? If so, how did you do it? I am really wanting to try that effect on a few models.

[QUOTE]In a few pictures it looks like there is some drool or saliva dripping out. Is that really what it is?

yep thats drool, froth, death foam

Well quite easy glue a little bit of fishing tackle on the spot and then cover it with gloß varnish from Revell warm it with a hairdryer and then do it again, and again .. until you like the effect

wyrmling_x - April 15, 2005 08:44 PM (GMT)
Simply awesome! I love it, all of it. I'm not a big fan of glossy finish on models, but it really suits your BT, like he's just bathed in the blood of the innocents.

And just because...

That model is nothing short of amazing! Great job.

Trunks - April 18, 2005 10:55 PM (GMT)
That looks simply amazing. It's the first forgeworld blodthirster I've ever seen painted and it looks badass.

I want one . . . if only it didn't cost 90 billion dollars . . .

Well, since babies are as innocent as you get, I suppose he's bathed in the blood of...babies? :ph43r:

So here the start of my Bludcrushers

It's a conversion made of Green stuff, all the faces are made of green stuff and the Jugga body was lengthened and made wider. The jaw was opened and the teeth sculpted.

The cute little miniature of Bel’lakor was used (I’m sorry but he is just to small to be anything ells, although it is a nice miniature) as a mounted Herald by filling in the gaps of the wings and giving him the “Axe oh Khorne” made of 2 Bloodletter champion axes

And before you ask yes he is glossy because he is dripping with blood for god sake, it’s steaming out of him.

It is a lava base made of real stone, the stones all have direct lighting

Well, I think that that model is extraordinarily great! Not just the paintjob, but the overall look that the model has is excellent! Have you entered this into the Painting Competition?

Yes

Trogdor - April 21, 2005 05:44 PM (GMT)
I hope you don't mind if I move this to the gallery section. I really like the model and the conversion is outstanding. Great use of Be'lakor. I agree about his size. He really needs to be a bit bigger if he's going to be a daemon Prince. These pics are a bit better than the ones on CMON. Still, even lighter would help to make it so we can see the details a bit better. Very cool model. I especially like the head of the jugger. Great job on that.

gjnoronh - April 21, 2005 06:06 PM (GMT)
Great painting job, and great conversion work

Whose axe is that?

-Gary N

beowahr - April 21, 2005 07:58 PM (GMT)
Well more light?? The pictures were made today directly under blue sky, sunshine, 20 degrees, you can't get more light. I will never understand photography <_<

The Axe like I mentioned is made of 2 Bloodletter champion Axes

Jach Sparrowhawk - April 28, 2005 07:44 PM (GMT)
Forgeworld are making every Greater Daemon, aren't they? Does anyone have any info on where I can see them? If they're out?

beowahr - April 28, 2005 08:29 PM (GMT)
Jep that’s right and the next will be the Keeper of Secrets, source direct by FW

I know exactly what you mean. I have 3 spotlights on my models and sometimes they still look too dark. I believe what you have to do is lengthen the shutter speed. The longer the shutter is open, the longer you can get light into your camera. I'm going to research it out a bit and do an article on it one of these days.

beowahr - April 29, 2005 07:19 AM (GMT)
I think your right there will have to try that. But my digi-cam is crap it?s an old one but it was a present so.... I don't moan

StoneWolf - May 4, 2005 12:21 AM (GMT)
You didn't get an award for this!? Thats an outrage! I like it, I love it, I want some more of it. The swaet, I've never seen a modle look so real, I'd love to see some more of youre work. Heres a nother rocker:

beowahr - May 4, 2005 06:11 AM (GMT)
Thank you there StoneWolf, it was a great "miniature" to paint and I must say that the guys at FG have to take some credit to the "miniature" is indeed very well made so that helps as well. I will post my mammoth if you are interested.

Sorry I didn't reply, but I have an excuse I was enjoying my vacation.

Wow, that is looking real nice, it's a great centre piece of your army. I don't think I can give you any new idea's but you certainly have given me some. I'd love to hear how you made this piece.

HoHoTheConqueror - August 6, 2005 03:49 AM (GMT)
holy freakin crap that is awesome

Trogdor - August 6, 2005 07:09 AM (GMT)
Oh baby oh baby oh baby oh. I used to think my chariot was pretty cool. This is cooler, and cooler by far!

Man, I wish the Hellcannon had been out when I made mine. The bits are so perfect! Excellent choice of bits all around and great conversions on the juggers. The shine makes it a bit hard to see some of the details, but that's OK. I'm sure in real life the shine doesn't take away nearly as much. Also, the banners would look nice if they were angled back just a tad to show them being blown back by the wind as the chariot rushes by. That's nitpicky as it looks alright anyways.

I must give you  for such a sweet model.

byshe the putrid - August 7, 2005 12:07 AM (GMT)
Nice work. :D

bish

beowahr - August 8, 2005 10:37 AM (GMT)
Trogdor your right on that I should have angled back the banners I can see that now, damn. Unfortunately you can't see the Faces on the chariot. I modelled demonical faces, like on my Herald all around the chariot.
