Title: We are in need of Hobby articles!
Trogdor - July 13, 2005 08:57 PM (GMT)
Notice to anyone with painting/converting/hobby skills!
I am currently looking for hobby articles for the hobby section of the website. Applicable topics inlcude painting, terrain making, converting, sculpting, drawing, and anything else that has to do with this great hobby.
Pictures are a huge plus! Since a picture is worth a thousand words, I'd love to have some pictures to go along with what you're sharing. WIP pics are important since nothing is more frustrating than seeing an article in White Dwarf where the model goes from unprimed to primed to basecoated to BAM! instant 'Eavy Meal Team paintjob. The magic is in the intermediate steps.
Also, please try to use correct grammar and spelling. I will help out where I can, but the less modification I have to do the better. I will worry about formatting the article on the webpage, but if you can get me the text and the pictures at the very least, that would be great.
Hopefully you've got something cool to show us. If you don't just yet, but are planning some amazing things, make sure to take notes and get those WIP pictures. PM or email me with what you've got. Thanks!

Hey man that is great stuff. I know english isn't your first language but I'd love to hear more about how you did that. Maybe some one can run a translator program on your page?
EDIT I just did using http://www.freetranslation.com/
Text from Beowahr's monolith website - obviously this needs a little cleaning up.
Chaos monolith of the monolith of the Khorne
The second the 5 monolith and simultaneously that, that the most powerful God is dedicated KHORNE
It is to be sure not as large as that of the undivided chaos however for that bloodier
Much blood, bronze must here and there the entire out of the stone struck its should have I a technology relatedly where I with a scalpel little chunks out of the Styrdur broke.
To the culmination of the stone, I used a skull of the Todbringers and some parts out of the barbarian box
Did naturally the symbol of the Khorne have to decorate the monolith and would last what more suitable than a bronze??
At the foot of the monolith, I have a little hill out of skull and axs gestapelt, suitably in addition yet some Rüstteile
The 2 blood boilers of the Dunkelelfen are a distinctive feature. Here I secured 2 Speyer of the chaos Landraider to the monolith and made a type blood with hinge tendon and brightness varnish...
Suitably were painted on the base Blutlachen out of a mixture out of blood red and brightness varnish. At the monolith, the blood down tile should was, there the hinge tendon again very useful.
The hinge tendon carefully was placed and was coated with blood red. As an additional Heighlight, I leaned serve another old, long deceased Khorne warrior at the dead skull to the left of placed I another shell with beheading that as a sacrifice. At the monolith, I hung quaked remained is cleared myself a
beheaded corpse and the question where that also, lie that in a Blutlache

Well I was goingt to translate my page into English anyway and I think that I'm up to doing that. So
Trogdor - July 14, 2005 02:34 PM (GMT)
I got your PM and I think the articles are excellent! If you can help me with translation I'll finish up with any grammar or spelling and we'll get it posted. Great stuff.

O.K. the last link should work now
Trogdor - July 14, 2005 09:05 PM (GMT)
Woah!!! That last one was my favorite of the 3. I really like the use of the Hellcannon bit on there. My only thought is that it would have been nice to have the streams of blood a little thicker. Everything was really well painted and I loved all the little details. That was truly a great scenery piece.

Trogdor - July 21, 2005 11:36 PM (GMT)
That might work. Get good pictures taken and a detailed writeup of all the steps you took. WIP pics are extremely helpful.
Malinche - July 23, 2005 08:48 AM (GMT)
I'm deffinitely willing to help. At the moment, I don't have any good material, but I'll write down the steps and make photos when I start doing my next mini (probably chariots or changebringers).

Sorry to dig this up but, you know something?
This is perfect. I have an entire army (or three) to paint, and I was going to start a thread about it.
I will be painting
Dark Elves - Cult of Slaanesh
Daemonic Legion Slaanesh Daemons
Dark Elves (standard)
I hope to start within the next week or so, just working 12 hrs/day 5-6 days/week tend to kill me. :( I wish I could paint at work like Trogdor. :P
I've already started on my Fiends of Slaanesh/Spawns
I plan on doing this on the weekend for sure! Just before I go to the KMFDM concert. ;)
Trogdor - September 30, 2005 03:25 AM (GMT)
I don't mind you digging this up at all. In fact, we still need articles!! We want conversion articles, painting tips, army themes, terrain, anything you can make cool. Please put it together and PM me and if it's good we'll see about getting it on the website.
