hey i am trying to find a army that i like and what to build to about 2k or 1 lord + what ever
and i am very tempted to do a daemons of chaos for the looks and i am trying to work out a competative army list (if 1 is possible)

welcome to this daemon site!
I`m sure you can create a competitive army list with daemons of chaos.
They are now (8th ed.) not as rock hard as they were in 7th but still a good choice..
I recommend taking a look at the lists in the army list section and/or at the pictures in the painting gallery before making a decision.
But be aware, the more you turn to the dark gods of chaos, the more power they`ll gain over you *G*.
