Title: The DL's role in the campaign
Woodpecker - May 25, 2005 04:53 PM (GMT)
Hi, I'm the ambassador from Warmakers filling in for DB right now.
Results of the Settings PollAs you may or may not know, we recently held a poll to choose the setting of our campaign. The winner of the poll was the Dark Lands Setting. Here is the
Dark Lands Summary. Remember, nothing in the summary is set in stone. It's just a set of basic guidelines which are open for revision.
It's up to you now.We have now reached the developmental stage of the campaign. This is the portion that you get to play the biggest part in (with the exception of actually playing in the campaign, of course). As you, the players of the DL, know what you want best, you get to decide. So what we need to know is how do you want your race to take part? As the different races will be split into factions, who do you want to ally with? What do you want your goals to be?
For example, in do the Old World Races want to ally together to clear the road? Or do they want to fight amongst each other? It's up to you, the player. Of course, we ask that you keep your ideas fairly reasonable. For instance, the Lizardmen players can't decide that they are going to try and close the Polar Warp Gates.
Eventually we want you to form a consensus on how your race is represented, what your goals are, and who you ally with. The first two are most important for now. Consensus can be reached anyway you want such as a poll, or agreement in a thread, whatever. If no consensus is reached we withold the right to take the best ideas and run with them, thus it is in your interest to form a consensus and control your destiny.
Thank you!
Woodpecker, Warmakers Head Ambassador

Thanks much Woodpecker. Having someone help update here is much appreciated and makes it much easier for us to be involved.
As for how the DL should be involved. 3 ancient mummies of incredible power would be excellent hosts for powerful daemon lords to posses. They could also be used as conduits to help open larger tears in the fabric of reality and open holes to the warp. I think the aim of the DL should be very selfish since we really don't care much about the other races. We don't necessarily have to pick sides I guess is what I'm saying. We just want to get the objects of power into the hands of our cultists to summon more of us or find ways to extend the power that supports Daemons living in the real world. What do you all think about this?
Skullvex - May 28, 2005 04:38 PM (GMT)
I think you hit the nail on the head Trogdor. That is in my opinnion what deamons would hope to achieve, and as for allies they would probably just be mortal followers of chaos.
Bye. :ph43r:

Ah glad to hear at least one other person agrees with me. Anyone else have any input on this subject? If not, I may just have Woodpecker take back the suggestion above.
Asmodeus - June 24, 2005 07:28 PM (GMT)
Yes I agree that could definatly be our main aim. I think we should also try to destroy any stone circles as this will let our legions spread further.
As to allys it may be worth trying not to take too strongly to one side i.e. we dont whant all the old world allying against us.
Primary enemies would have to be lizards, high elves and wood elves as these are the people that will know what weer up to. Therefor we should ally with anyone against them, but prehaps distance ourselves from the mortals as they are a more direct threat and so would attract attention. Infact if we could convince our mortal followers to create as much of a distraction as possible we may well be able to get the stone circles as most races will be after those mummys I reckon.
What do you think?
Trogdor - June 25, 2005 12:11 AM (GMT)
I think that's a great idea. Have you been keeping up with the Warmakers campaign? We are in need of Herald for the Legion to be our representative and make our weight felt at the Warmakers forum. You're pretty new here right now, but if it's something you have time for and might be interested in, I'll bet I could swing you a "promotion".
Asmodeus - June 25, 2005 07:35 PM (GMT)
I havnt realy looked into the campaign yet (A-levels), and am also only just starting a daemonic legion of my own. Also as Im realy new not many people know me, so I think it would be better to have a more well known member be our representative. Il do my fair share of adviseing though.
daemonic badger - June 26, 2005 10:36 AM (GMT)
sorry i've been away guys, but my comp broke.
as ambassador, i'm not really allowed to express my opinions, but what would you intentions be towards the toher races?
Asmodeus - June 28, 2005 09:10 PM (GMT)
Whats a toher race? (I havnt read much on the campaign yet)
DeathBringer - June 28, 2005 10:13 PM (GMT)
I think he meant to other races. ;)
But not sure myself.....

When you knowme better, you'll recognise it as one of my numerous literacy mistakes. yes, i meant other

I think we sould have our strongest links with the Dark Elves and Beasts. The DE will obviously be against the Hight elves, and often have a go at the lizards so it makes sence to help them. The beasts have their secret war with the WE over the stone circles so again helping them seems apropriate.
After this Im tempted to say help any race that overall helps our goal i.e. keep the strugle over the mummies in the balance by helping whichever side is weakest.
However this is assuming we do whant to go for stone circles rather than the mummies.
daemonic badger - July 5, 2005 05:46 PM (GMT)
If you want to, i could compile your overall interets so far, then have a quick go over with you, and then send them to woodpecker and Lathaine?
Trogdor - July 5, 2005 05:52 PM (GMT)
That would be so excellent. I think one our big problems is consolidating all the good ideas that have been put out by eveyone. That would be much appreciated D.B.

Fear the daemonic legions. This (whenever the campaign is) The daemonic Legions are arriving in the Dark lands. Rumors of secret alliances are ripe, and emissaries the Skaven, Druchii, and Beasts of Chaos have been seen in contact with the demons. Scheming tzentchian demons have predicted that several other races will coincide with their goal, and they are willing to help their enemy’s enemy. For their actual purpose, much is unclear, however there have been suggestions that they are after is the raw power of the stolen mummies and the stone circles, to bring them more power for summoning, and hosts for possession. Some cynics say that the demons will not rest at merely harvesting their power, but turning the entire dark lands into a new chaos waste. There goals bring them into conflicts with long hated enemies high elves, Wood Elves and lizardmen, and it is unlikely that they will get on well with the realms of me either. How they will react with the Dawi Zharr is unknown, but if there goal is complete domination, it is likely they will be but another tool in their schemes. The undead do not hold grudges lightly, and the stealing of the mummies will inevitably cause the demons to com into conflict with the walking dead.
These are grave times indeed.
Just a quick fluff summary, if you have any ideas, I’ll change the, otherwise, in two days time I’ll hand this in.
I'll do more about the ruise of a particularly powerful demon prince, and the particular goals of each of the gods when i have more material to work with.
Trogdor - July 5, 2005 06:54 PM (GMT)
That was beautiful enough to bring a tear to my eye. It's also right up the alley of what I was thinking.
My support is definately behind that awesome piece of fluff.

You know what, I should probably close this entire part of the forum. The project got put on hold last I heard. It was gearing up to be huge but I think it fell through as various people got hit by bad cases of real life. They'll probably try and bring it back though sooner or later.
Kristov - November 15, 2005 03:01 AM (GMT)
AHHH, gotchya, thanx Trogdor, man I always saw that thing and never read it and then I finally did and it sounded so cool.
Hope it comes back,
Kristov

Well, from what I've read on the Warmaker forums, they are currently trying to restart the project, so don't close this section just yet.
