I think they are going to work through the waiting list a bit (they just pulled three guys up from waiting list to active list) so it's well worth putting yourself on the waiting list for ASAP as I think it's going to move very quickly with some folks signed up not having paid and the due date being tomorrow. FUN fun fun event each year.

I envy the number of tournaments that you guys have in the U.S.. I'll have to get my passport updated soon, so that I can hopefully get to some in the Pacific Northwest.

gjnoronh - March 12, 2010 04:13 PM (GMT)
There are some good ones up in the northwest.

It's population density I think.

Finnigan2004 - March 16, 2010 02:29 AM (GMT)
I agree with you about the population density. I think too that we are still a small enough community, even in larger cities like Vancouver, for certain anomalies to exist. In many of the parts of Vancouver that I travel too, 40k is just so much more commonly played that it can be tough to find a fantasy game. Not that you can't, but it's just a lot less common.

On a bright note though, Vancouver does host one of the four big Blood Bowl tourneys-- the Spike. Hopefully I'll make it this year. Possibly the only game that's cooler than fantasy. Yeah, I know it's sacrilege...

gjnoronh - March 16, 2010 02:23 PM (GMT)
Blood bowl is awesome so it's not really sacrilege. Is there a daemon team?

Finnigan2004 - March 17, 2010 12:34 AM (GMT)
Nah, not unless you make your own (I've seen a couple). I have a fully painted ogre team, which means that I have a fully painted gobbo team too. Both flat out stink, but it's not so much about winning. You can actually get a nurgle's rotters team, but they're not actually daemons-- more like toxic goo creatures. Chaos is mixed warriors and beastmen.

The absolute best part of the game is that they actually tell you in the rules that not all teams are equal. Then they list the bad teams. I picked ogres knowing that they were amongst the worst. Well, amongst the worst at scoring, but they really beat people up well...

Check out the free rules gjnoronh. The living rule book is here:
