Howdy guys,
I have an announcement of rather large proportions! I am starting the Deamonic Legion's first ever.........Arena of Death tournament!

Basically, if you want to participate, please PM me with a character. Once I have enough players, I will set it up as a tournament. It will be a knockout tournament, and I will randomly draw the opponents in the first round.

Anyway, now onto the rules. We will be using the new "Movement+Dice Roll" rules that can be found in the Fluff/Battle Reports section. The points limit for character's is:

450.

This is quite alot, but as this is a Deamonic Legion forum, and I'm guessing that there will be lots of Deamon Princes, we need a large points cap!

So, anyone interested, please PM me your character, and once we have enough we shall begin.

P.S. I posted this here and not in the Fluff/Battle Reports section as I think more people will read it if they see it in the News section!

Cool! How long is the entry period? Does is just go until enough people have entered? I guess that leads to the next question of how many is enough then? Alright, time to make my prince O'San the Exalted!

Well, I'm thinking an entry period of 5-10 days? That way most people will se the competition. To be honest, I think that perhaps 8 or 16 is about the right size. Thoughts?

Of course! I've already got Gary's entry (I'm trying to keep it so no one knows what the other characters are, so there is no tailoring), so if you and Trog join, we've got three already!

Yeah who else has a sacrifice for the Arena of Death. More blood for the lord of the skull throne. . .

I'm sure someone else can design a solid character for this kind of battle.

Indeed Gary, Tepoc has already submitted his character, so we could have a good, interesting tournament on our hands. Keep those characters coming!

Hi guys, I'm just posting to remind you all about the Arena of Death that I've got lined up. I've got entries from Tepoc and Gary, so I'm hoping for about six more. If Trog and Badger enter then we'll have four, so just a few more people need to enter for us to get this started. Keep your entries coming!

LoL! Gary, you really are confident about winning this one aren't you? Thanks for your entry that you just PM 'd me Trogdor, looks like this will be a tight turnament!

Come on guys, all we need is one more entry into this AoD tournament. I've got Trogdor's, Tepoc's and Gary's, so just one more and we can have two semi-finals, and a final. Come on guys, you know you want to!

I could pm you the stats? Seriously most sites allow giving stats for AoDs. Lastly isn't 450 a bit much. I think you can overpower characters then. It allows you to get too much. Also it takes much longer to make a character, you have too many points to fill for most races. My advice is next time (if you've already got 450 point characters) go for 250 pts. I think it's the best amount, have a look at some AoDs on other sites.

I'm pretty sure that the reason the points limit is so high is becuase of the cost of daemonic characters. DP's are 300 base! Give them a mark and the compliment of items and you're at 450 easy.

Yes, I did suspect that. But you can get a herald for 250. Okay I better go and make a daemonic character. I'd suggest 400 pts then, it allows you 100 points to spend if you choose a daemon prince, which requires more skill than 150.

I believe the extra 50 points is to allow use of marks as well.

Shaar - maybe next AoD we'll change the points limit. Seeing as folks have been submitting characters for a couple of weeks why don't you just do what you can with 450.
