Title: More horror of horrors

Ratrek - January 26, 2005 07:54 AM (GMT)
So I've got the first unit done barring the movement tray so I figured you could all take a gander at an actualy unit rather than a single model. I've also got a unit of screamers done with a second one 70% done as well as an exalted daemon. Both of those should be done within a week or so I figure. After that I'm in the process of making up some amusing and weird change bringers to fit the army theme.

Whatcha think?

*Is there a reason none of the links work as clickable links? Do we have html turned off? Should I just be attaching the pics to the message instead?*

I suppose the [_IMG_] tag should work on this forum. Lets make a test:

Yup, it works! :D

I wont post the rest since they are quite huge to view. I leave that to you to handle. ;)

The horrors are very characterfull, a pity its the same model twelve times.
Good colour scheme on both them and screamers - contrasting colours work best on deamons.

I particulary like the bases - putty sculpted?

I've edited the links into easy to use clickables, the pics now open in a new window, mostly for my own convieniance but I'm sure others will benifit.

Looks pretty good. An original idea on the Horrors. The Screamers have a fine colour scheme but you should really try to paint more layers on the blue parts. Also, an ink wash could make them look smoother. The orange looks great.

Like I said before, I like the bases and the horrors are way cool. True, the blending could be smoother on the blue, but for the tabletop it's not bad at all. Thanks for the links Caldius.

Really original idea for the bases there.

I like the models as well.

Re-sizing will be done shortly (this is what happens when I attempt to use a camera when my gf isn't around  ).

Meanwhile: Agreed, I should use more layers on the blue. Currently it's only 5 and really only 3/4ish show up properly. However I did try a ink wash and I essential had to repaint the model all over again as it destroyed the effect. Perhaps I watered it down to much to be of any use (I went sky blue ink with 1 part ink to 4 parts water). So how exactly would one go about doing a good ink wash?

As to the horrors being all the same model, I know it rather sucks. However I do have 4 other variants of familairs I'm doing up so I'll be able to vary them a fair bit. Most likely two more groups will become horrors with the other two becoming flamers for the change bringers and the chariots. Also I've got 2 or 3 of the warmaster greater daemons of tzeentch which are about the size of a goblin. They'll be done up in the same manner to act as champions.
