i just had a therioy it may sound odd.

u all know turns in warhammer. they represent real battles. all turns take time. but the time isnt realistic cannona take couppla muintes to load so do all warhammer style shotty weapons and units get only one atackk for 3 minuets

this is one theroiy

the units have only one atttck that has a chance to hit the rest of the time there atackks are blocked

this may suck so plz tell me if it does

Well, the "Real Battles" they are reffering to is with a small r on the "real". They are representing real battles within the confines of a game system that allow there to be rules and a level playing field for everyone. While yes, loading cannons takes time (and 3 minutes is probably a bit much for an experienced crew to load powder, pack it, throw a ball down, put on a new wick, light it and plug your ears) having a one shot cannon for gaming purposes might be a little lame unless they were dirt cheap and you could get half a dozen of them.

There are actual commentaries in a couple of books about how the time conversions work,. Bottom line it's a rough estimate and resolving a single shot from a bow really reflects several minutes of bow firing. Think about a cannon might typically do 4 wounds to a ranked unit of infantry, and 10 bowmen shooting once might do about the same, realistically a single cannon shot is probably going to kill more people than 10 arrows, so you can think of the single turn of bowfire representing several volleys of fire.
