Title: New to the forum? Introduce yourself!

Trogdor - September 16, 2004 04:27 PM (GMT)
Hey all, I just wanted to be the first to say welcome! Please do tell us where you're from, how long you've been playing, and maybe some other juicy tidbits about yourself. So to be a good example I'll start off.

Even though it was rumored that I am from the 9th level of the Abyss, I currenlty reside in Provo Utah flogged daily in college as I get ready for dental school :( . I play guitar (I've got an Ibanez Artwood 400 that is my baby), like paintball and raquetball. I also love Jeeping! 4 wheeling, digging, off-roading, whatever you'd like to call it. I've been playing warhammer since I was a wee tot. Ok, well for over 10 years now. The Daemonic Legion is the coolest army to come from the SoC IMO. Glad to be here and you'll see me heading up the Khorne forum as well as other places. Glad to be here!

Vriishnak - September 17, 2004 12:20 AM (GMT)
Hola! Me llamo Jacob, y...

Well, I suppose I'll do this in english. ;)

Right, my name is Jacob, and I've been playing Warhammer for 5 or 6 years now. I'm 19, Canadian, and I love wargaming, roleplaying and video games, not necessarily in that order.

I also enjoy writing, so don't be surprised if I put some fluff up every now and again, or a battle report if I start getting some games in again.

Oh, and like a true Slaaneshi, my hair was dyed bright pink at one point, though I've since grown bored of that and gone back to normal hair. :D

Trunks - September 17, 2004 02:31 AM (GMT)
Die Katzchen sind in die Geschirrspulmaschine!

He started his off in a foreign language :)

Um, I found this site (well, the old one actually) through a recruitment run on Portent. I was going to be making my own site and possibly forum for the demonic legion army, an army I've played since 6th edition came out, and then saw the post on Portent and was happy. Then the burninator himself led me to the "new and improved uber super demonic legion site"

I play all five types of demonic legion and have over 10k . . . and plan on expanding that. I am working on new types of demons as well.

wyrmling_x - September 17, 2004 02:42 AM (GMT)
Good to have you aboard (I know, but I love sad, old puns)! It sounds like you have an incredible army - just what we need for some good mortal-stomping.

I'm happy to see that our ad campaign wasn't for nothing. Welcome to The Daemonic Legion, and my the gods bless your mighty daemonic force.

*EDIT* I suppose I shold introduce myself! :D My name is Ryan, and I've been playing Warhammer for about 7 years. My primary army until now has been solely Lizardmen, and I've amassed an army of 8000 pts. I've yet to decide on a particular Chaos God, so I've been writing and testing lists before committing to models.

acolite, the enlightened - September 17, 2004 08:00 PM (GMT)
Hi, I'm acolite on COTEC, and acolite here.

Raya - September 19, 2004 03:11 PM (GMT)
Hi!

I found my way to this place of great evil from the Pyramid Vault.
So I´m a lizardplayer that couldn´t resist the awsome powers of Nurgle. :D

Next spring I hope to have a 2k army painted and ready for me to take to a turnament.
Right now I have almost no time to play because I´m in the military.
I live in Sweden and some of us have to do militaryservice when we´re 19-20 years old.

Other than that I also like playing paintball (like someone else here did ) nad listening to metal-music.

Trunks - September 20, 2004 03:12 PM (GMT)
Swedes make awesome metal music. As do all those other "crazy northern Europeans".

Raya - September 20, 2004 04:42 PM (GMT)
"Crazy northern Europeans"?? :D

We do have some great metalbands indeed.
In Flames is one favourite. Amon Amarth another.

Ratrek - September 20, 2004 08:18 PM (GMT)
Hey all,

I guess I'm the newest here and that requires me to ramble on about myself. I'm 21, canadian and currently in my third year of an honours psyc, honours philosophy degree. I've been playing for a good 6 years now with 3 GT's and a few other tournaments under my belt. I played wood elves for 4 years and then saw the light that was chaos heh. I've got a mortal slaanesh force as well as slaanesh and tzeentch daemonic legion armies which are in the painting process after being converted.

I do a spot of painting for hire (currently selling a large well painted TK army) but mostly L lean towards the generalship side of the table.

If things go right I should have my slaanesh daemons done just in time for the vancouver GT in january and will be breaking them out.

So hola to the rest of you.

Trogdor - September 20, 2004 08:52 PM (GMT)
Cool, glad to have you all aboard. The Canadians are sure making a good showing of themselves. Wyrmling_X and Vriishnak are also Canadian.

Vriishnak - September 20, 2004 08:59 PM (GMT)
Yeah, it seems like us Canadians are among the more active board-goers. The only other group I've seen more represented on most boards are UK'ers.

Anyway, In Flames is awesome, as is most other European metal. I've got tickets to see Nightwish in December. :D

backslide - September 20, 2004 10:03 PM (GMT)
well I'm a kiwi, eg from New Zealand.

Iuse a hard tzeentch legion, and my mortals are slowly taking shape even though I have been going to the dark side and been using slaanesh a bit.

I also run a very successful vampire counts army, have a pile of wood elves and dark eldar that don't see the light of day, and one of these days I will finnish painting my relictors, but people keep givingme money to paint their models so what can I say?

Beergolem - September 21, 2004 06:32 AM (GMT)
Hi im Beergolem, Im 27 and im from Lima, Peru
i ve been playing since 2002. i started with a slaaneshi mortal army but after i read about the new daemonic legion i started my 4 gods project.

this forum looks like a good place for all things daemonic :D

Trogdor - September 21, 2004 01:14 PM (GMT)
Sweet, Kiwi's and Lima beans.....mmmmm. And someone older than me! I won't be 27 until January. Whew, I was starting to feel like the old man here. And you're absolutetly right. This is the best place for all thing pertaining to the Daemonic Legion. Welcome!

Haragen-Skullcrusher - September 21, 2004 06:37 PM (GMT)

Time of Madness - September 21, 2004 08:40 PM (GMT)
Wow, this place is starting to pick up! It is great to see.

My name is Adam(aka Time of Madness). I have been playing warhammer for 7-8 years now(started back in 5th ed right at the beginning).

Currently playing a tzeentch daemonic army, but will soon branch off to a nurgle daemonic army. I will be at the GT circuit next year with my tzeentch daemons once I get them all painted.

Come visit me on the tzeentch board!

Time of Madness

CarlosFerrao - September 23, 2004 09:17 AM (GMT)
Hi, my name's Carlos (as the nick would suggest).

I'm 27 years old and have been playing wargames since... well... forever. I've played mostly 40k lately but got bored of it and started playing Fantasy about a year ago. My main army used to be mortal/beasts chaos but I've always had lots of daemons hanging around which I never used, so I built a tzeentch daemon army which I absolutely love! It was really "cheap" to build it because I already had tons of horrors and flamers, as well as an old-school LoC. The discs were "free" as I build them using two flying bases and green stuff. The rest just came along nicely.

Lanshor - September 23, 2004 02:46 PM (GMT)
hi everybody!!! :D
im ben and ive been playing wargames for about 6 years now
i play alot of armies that i cant be bothered to type out so deal with it :P

Trogdor - September 24, 2004 02:05 PM (GMT)
Great to have you all with us! Please give us feedback about what you like and don't like about the site. We just might use your idea! HERE is the appropriate place for that feedback.

Drachor - September 24, 2004 04:09 PM (GMT)
I just realised I have been actively posting guides and tactics of late but havn't even intruduced myself. I often do things a little backwards.

Anyhow, I am from OZ and have been playing the game for about 10 years now. I am 24 years of age and currently studying history and literature at uni.

I have never ever abandonned my precious khorne daemon legion. From the very start I have always been Khorne daemons in every possible system 3rd ed 40k 5th ed warhammer ect. Now with the addition of the Soc list I can feild all the units I have ever dreamed of, and thank whichever God is responsible.

I have only recently been an active member of forums and what better one than this. This is a great site and hope to empart some of my opinions and wisdom on all things daemonic, particularly in the feild of khorne.

I currently have around 5.5k khorne daemons and 2.5k odd of tzeentch, and hope to start a nurgle and slannesh fact soon.
I also have 2.2k of lizards but they are all from 5th ed and I rarely use them except to give to a freind to play against me. My heart is only in khorne at the moment.

If anyone is thinking about starting a Khorne Legion check out my Khorne guide to 2000pts and look for future guides when I can write them (hopefully soon). Also If you have any questions regarding khorne or would like a particular guide for them khorne vs lizardman don't hesitate to ask.(though I will be posting army specific guides soon)

I also have been recently playing around with my previously stagnant Tzeentch and am starting to finally like my new list (check out the tzeentch tactica section for coments on what im currently feilding in my tzeentzch legion, fun and flames!)

acolite, the enlightened - September 25, 2004 08:09 PM (GMT)
Hey, I haven't introduced my self either. I'm Janusz, its pronounced yanush though ;) I'm Welsh/Polish/Ukraineian and I live in England, I'm currently in my last few years of school. I like the sites design, it feels kind of Archaic and Deamonic, I guess that kind of sums up Deamons as well!

Neth Dhaos'phak - September 29, 2004 01:23 PM (GMT)
Hey all. I don't post much but am planning on making some more attempts in both the modeling and tactics areas. I'll be all over the place a bit though, as I'm building my Daemonic Legion to be roughly 1000 points of each greater power (plus undivided characters and Furies).

I've been playing WHFB for about 3 years, and Daemons for the last 2 of that. I finally got everything for an HOC list created, when the Storm of Chaos started, so on to the next project! Anyway, I've got a good bit of experience with HOC daemonic lists (2 grand tournaments this year with them and 2 RTT's), and will try and turn as much of that as I can into Daemonic Legion info. I'll post army lists and pictures over the next week or two.

Tzeentch - September 29, 2004 02:21 PM (GMT)
Hmm. Never noticed this until now.

I'm 21, in college in Texas, studying Psychology, about to attend Police Academy this summer.
My main army was Khorne Beastmen, but I recently changed them to Tzeentch, thanks to my Daemonic Legion of Tzeentch and Chaos Mortals of Tzeentch, and my newly acquired Thousand Sons. Mmmm.... Tzeentchy goodness.

I'm the senior moderator at Chromiates Wargaming Forums, and I'm the admin at Northern Wastes (no one here is on there, I guarantee it).

wyrmling_x - September 29, 2004 07:24 PM (GMT)
Welcome, all of you! It seems that there are a number of us college/uni students on here, quite the contrast from most forums populated by the younger-teens crowd. B)

Sarkan - September 30, 2004 05:15 PM (GMT)
Yo guys,

I'm Mark, 14, from the UK and am relatively new to the hobby. I enjoy reading, video games, writing, hanging with mates and listening to music (Greenday, Nirvana, Good Charlotte etc.)

I'm very visually impaired so my painting and modelling quality is not great but i do try.

Phhazool - September 30, 2004 05:17 PM (GMT)
Greetings All

I found this site quite by accident! So I checked out the tactics and thought the insights were awesome. I'm mainly into Khorne (Only fully painted army) but have deamons from all the gods. I'm 35 and live in BC Canada. I'll be checking here quite often for more advice and articles.

Thanks

Doombreed - September 30, 2004 09:38 PM (GMT)
I've been highly impressed having looked around, and I've seen quite a few other forums over the years, so that's a big compliment. Without further ado:

Age: 22

Education: Mathematical Economics BSc

Employment: Finance Analyst & part-time GW staff member (3+ years)
Gaming experience: 12 years of GW, plus roleplaying WFRP and limited D&D experience.

Location: London, England

Armies: High Elves, Slaanesh - all, Tomb Kings (Fantasy); Emperor's Children, Dark Eldar (40K); Chaos (BFG); Chaos (Warmaster); Elves, Mordor (LotR); Everything (Blood Bowl).

Other interests: Qualified football (soccer) coach; playing football & badminton; stadium rock; beer; clubbing; food;

Most random thing I've done: "3 peaks challenge" trying to climb the highest point in England, in Scotland, and in Wales in 24 hours for charity. Raised over £6,000 although it took 26 hours, we had bad traffic in two places and were first on the scene at a car crash. Driving a minibus rocks!

Sarkan - October 1, 2004 04:56 PM (GMT)
Where abouts in London???

Doombreed - October 1, 2004 10:17 PM (GMT)
North-west, Watford area.

Oh nevermind then.

The Lord of Thunder - October 3, 2004 07:11 PM (GMT)
hey all! its the lord of thunder, or whitethunder500 everywhere else. My reign of terror has arrived, and Draken, my new bloodthirster has allied with Relmar Tigermouth, now daemon prince. i'll be lookin' for some advice on that front.

und_ed - October 4, 2004 08:02 AM (GMT)
Hi there.

In the tradition of introductions, here's my personals...

25 Yrs old, Living in Johannesburg, South Africa. Started warhammer on the
condition that I could play Daemons. Started pretty much at the start of 6th
Edition, with a Ravening Hordes List - Daemons only.

I was extremely peeved when HoC came out, and the daemons were
made almost unplayable as a standalone army. (Thankfully, SoC has
fixed that...). At that point I started collecting some Mortals to play with,
and building a solid Tzeentch-only Daemon army, the only playable
all-daemon force in the old HoC. My mortals have succeeded in ways
I wish my Daemons would, but I'm getting there... (I'm guilty of
the 13-model Tzeentch Mortal army cheesemonger-from-hell list...)
With the SoC Daemonic Legoin list out, my daemons have re-surfaced
and have smited mightily in the name of goodness. (I tend to claim that
my daemons just want a nice place to live, raise some cattle, plant some crops,
raise families etc, and that these evil (Insert opponent's army race here)
are xenophobic bastards that are prejudiced and are trying to kick
us out of our homes...)

My Mortals rate about 3000 Points worth, and my Daemons are pushing
15 000+ points. (Haven't counted fully yet... - but it's impressively large)
I've also recently started collecting Tomb Kings, and have just finished
painting up 2000 Pts. My main interests in terms of Chaos Deities are
fall in the Slaaneshi line, but I still need more Daemonettes and four
Pleasueseekers before I can make full use of them... (I have an incredible
model for the Keeper of Secrets, used because I detest the GW KoS
model... - If you're interested, check out the Netherlord at
www.heresyminiatures.com. I've also got the Court of Abyst from
Reaper, giving me an Awesome Daemon Prince, and all the Heralds and
Exalted's I could want...

OK... That's enough Rambling.

Dark Master - October 5, 2004 10:51 PM (GMT)
Brand NooB here! in New York (Westchester County, not the city), painting up an Orc and Chaos army, but I'm leaning more heavily towards Chaos (Khorne) since the models are just so sweet.

Painting sucks! I'm an MK player, but I've wanted to try WH for a long time, never had time to paint (I still really don't have time, but I'm squeezing it in).
ANyway, was wondering, where can I get all the special rules and info on special characters like Be'Lakor besides buying the Storm of CHaos book, and I see people mention rules like certain Demons can't take Master of Mortals, where does info like this come from (again, is this all in storm of Chaos?)

Anyway, I'll be posting army ideas for feedback soon (hoping for lots of help, since I haven't actually played a game of WH yet!)

Vriishnak - October 6, 2004 02:15 AM (GMT)
You can check out the SoC lists for free here.

That has the army lists and special characters, but if you're using Hordes armies, you're going to want to pick up the book, assuming you don't have it yet.

Trogdor - October 6, 2004 01:55 PM (GMT)
I would also reccomend checking out this thread HERE for another URL that has both the army list and the Q&A for the lists. Welcome on board! Hope to see you develop into a proper daemon Prince here.

acolite, the enlightened - October 6, 2004 06:45 PM (GMT)
Hi Thunder! I'm well, oviosly acolite, just a tad cleverer!

Myself - October 10, 2004 02:41 PM (GMT)
Hello...

Some of you lot might know me from other forums, mainly TPV. I find the deamonic list interesting and proxied an army of them several times.

Anywaste, I hope you enjoy my stay here ;)
