During my army time, we didnít have a light 60mm mortar. The old American 60mm model has been decommissioned, in the early 90ís.

Is this the older one you mean? Because i've got this picture of a Z-MAK member using a 60mm mortar and i don't know either which type of mortar this is.

How do you aim the damn thing?

This looks like the Japanese "knee mortar" (was actually a grenade launcher) of WW2. It was a fair close-in point defense weapon, but hardly an effective mortar as per se. Grenade launchers are infantry weapons, true mortars are short range artillery. Does this weapon really fill a need?

Japanese soldier firing a "knee mortar" during WW2. It fired standard grenades as well as rifle grenades. The barrel was rifled.
