It looks good(exept a few items on the soldiers does not fit desert conditions) but a simple question: Is Greek Army preparing to send soldiers to a country mainly desert? (like Iraq or Africa as UN peace force) or just for the exercise they use this uniform?

GREEK-AIRBORNE - November 20, 2005 03:48 PM (GMT)
Hellenic Army ALREADY has soldiers in a mainly desert country. In Afghanistan!
I hope we will not send Army to Iraq

Lord - November 20, 2005 04:42 PM (GMT)
@Robust
We allready wear this uniform in Afghanistan...
My opinion is that this uniform was nececary for time now...and it looks very good..also it is in a very good quality (greek made)
About the items you mention...its the chest?
I think also the US wears the green chests...and there does not exist in big numbers desert colour chest for ammo...(especially for an army like the greek one it would be not nececary) my opinion..
Good move...i like our lizzard very much

Thanks for the scanning GreekAB

We need this camo to get close to the female tourists laying the sand of the beaches of our islands! :applause:

a bit of topic but u have to say it...

this days iam searching to buy a old military jeep (ex-greek Army)
and iam trying to restore it...so in summer i think it will be superp...
i want to paint it in desert mat colour...like the jeeps our legendary Sacret batalion haid in Egypt during world War...

now...the new cammo...will be teriffic...i have to buy also 2 for my boys...

AND IN SUMMER....we will make some beaches unsecure....

Lord the fashion victim out... :help:

Talking about Greek Forces to Afganistan i've heard a completely different version of about what really happened to the recent incident there.I've heard that a Greek convoy has been dropped to a Taliban ambush not only by mines but also by combatants. After the Greek vehicle has been destroyed by mine Greek soldiers took combat positions and open massive fires against Talibans killing two of them.I would be apreciated any relative info on this.

Is this an official issue BDU? I have not read/heard about it. Will versions of it be adopted by the entire army?

Pytheas - November 24, 2005 08:36 AM (GMT)
Now I am amazed.... :D

Lord - November 24, 2005 01:09 PM (GMT)
Hehehe...every day we can learn something new...no? ;)

About the cammo...now...

Only Elite forces will wear the new cammo..and especially OYK units...and that depending on there mission...

Looks great no?

beautiful aye? :Cursing: as nice as they may look, they did damage to me... little story... I had an export company exporting used USGI BDU's to asian coulnties that use US cammo. If course, as we know, the original made in USA was much more desired than the domestic, even used. So then the USA switch to digital (psifiaki/psifidoti paralagi, psifidoti would be most accurate) cammo. Then, the woodland pattern finnished, and the digital new is very out of the Thai soldiers budget, ending my supply and putting that part of my work out of business :damn: Cest' la vie...

Nutuk - November 26, 2005 08:45 AM (GMT)

Kiziroglu - November 28, 2005 12:56 PM (GMT)

Now serious. it is of course helpfull for a new government to get credit by its folk when it shows success in foreign relations...
