FULL NAME | Johnathan Roman Burgess
NICKNAMES | His friends and family can call him John. He hates to be called Johnny.

PHYSICAL APPEARANCE | The first physical trait people notice about Johnathan is that he is blind. Johnathan is a little over six feet tall and muscular. One of his best features used to be his large, bright green eyes, but now they are clouded. He has short brown hair and broad shoulders. He has large hands and feet. Throughout his life, people have told him he's the spitting image of his father which he definitely is. He's in good shape but has lost weight since becoming a prisoner due to lack of proper nutrition.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES | He's blind and has a small red scar above his left eye. He has a tattoo on his upper right arm which is the Chinese symbol for rebel which was used as a sign of the resistance early in the war.

DRESS & HAIR STYLE | Johnathan doesn't really care what he wear's as long as it's clean. He can usually be seen wearing plain blue, black, or red t-shirts and blue jeans. He keeps his hair cut short.

PERSONALITY |

THE GOOD
Courageous: Johnathan is willing to face his fears in order to protect the people he cares about. He was one of the first to stand against Dunst. He isn't afraid to fight if that's the only way to settle an issue, through he would much rather settle problems through peaceful means. His parents used to say he was practically fearless , but he does have his fears he just doesn't openly share them with others. Courage is his strongest trait, making him a natural Gryffindor.

Determined: Johnathan is the kind of person who almost never gives up. He tries his hardest to accomplish what he wants, and usually succeeds. He tries not to dwell on the bad in any given situation but instead focus's on a way to fix his problems. He is willing to do almost anything to accomplish his goals. He is very set in his ways.

Smart: Johnathan has great common sense and is just as intelligent as many Ravenclaw's. He's good at coming up with strategies and solutions to conflicts. He almost always thinks seriously about a subject before he makes any comments about it, therefore his statements are often deep and meaningful. He actually enjoys learning about most subjects and is well-educated on many topics.

Calm: Johnathan has the ability to remain calm and collected in difficult circumstances. He doesn't let his current emotions badly effect him. He deals with his problems carefully, considering all the possible repercussions before making a move. He doesn't get angry easily. He's known for acting rational and logical.



THE BAD:

Blunt: In a regime where freedom of speech is not exactly welcome, Johnathan's bluntness is not a good trait. He isn't afraid to tell people what he thinks about them and freely tells others his opinions. He is very open about rather or not her like's you. However, since he's become a prisoner he doesn't talk out like he used to, instead preferring to remain quite.

Judgmental: Johnathan usually bases his thoughts of people based on his first impression of them or based on what group they're in. Therefore he hates all nobles, not realizing that some of them aren't all evil and that a few even wish to help the prisoners. His opinion of people does not usually change over time.

Self-Deprecation: Johnathan doesn't have the highest opinion of himself. He tends to lose confidence quickly. He takes criticism harshly. He has fairly low self-esteem. He blames himself if anything goes wrong in a project he's involved in. He tends to over think his mistakes. He will often joke about his faults.

Unforgiving: He rarely gives people second chances. He feels that if someone has offended him once they will certainly do it again. He doesn't allow people to redeem themselves once they are on his bad side. He often doesn't trust people who join the resistance but used to be nobles .


QUIRKS: He runs his hands through his hair whenever he's nervous. He often laughs at awkward times. He cracks his knuckles often. He sometimes paces when he's deep in thought. He has also been known to talk in his sleep.




SECRETS & ISSUES | His biggest secret is that he's determined to find a way to remain a Legilimens even through he is blind. He doesn't tell any of the other prisoners mainly because he's a loner in Draton and he doesn't want the guards to find out. To prevent other's asking questions, he usually spends his time alone.

His main issue is that he's still has feelings for Annora Savage, who is actually Annora Selwyn, but he is not aware of the fact that she is a married noble. He hasn't seen her since she moved to France, and hopes she is safe.

ANYTHING ELSE |

HISTORY | Johnathan is the oldest child in his family, the result of a teenage pregnancy. His mom had him when she was seventeen and his parents got married a few months after his birth. He has twin sisters that are four years younger than him. He's always been close to his parents and siblings. He's always been very protective of his sisters.

Johnathan was sorted into Gryffindor, which he was proud of, even through the rest of his family is made up of Ravenclaw's. He was fairly popular in school. Even through he isn't very outgoing, he is good at Quidditch and had many friends that were popular, which made him popular by association. He excelled in Defense Against the Dark Arts ,his favorite class. He had several girlfriends throughout the years but nothing very serious.

In his sixth year, he fell for Annora Savage, but never told her because he didn't believe she felt the same way. Finally over the summer he got up the courage to ask her out, but when he returned to Hogwarts for his final year she wasn't there and his friends told him she had moved to Europe and transferred to Beaxbatons. His pen pal Basil is the only person who he ever told about his crush on Annora.

He graduated just as Dunst came to power. He had planned on becoming a Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, but Dunst had control of Hogwarts by that point and only his followers worked there. He joined the resistance and actively fought against the new regime. His parent's were also part of the resistance. His father was killed in one of the first battles against Dunst.

He was a vital part of the resistance due to his gift. However, a few years into the war he was blinded in a battle and taken as a prisoner to Draton. At first, he gave up on his gift of being a Legilimen's, but now he's determined to somehow find a way to use it in spite of his blindness. He's a loner in Draton, not taking the time to get to know people and instead focusing solely on regaining his power. Luckily, his Occlumency was not affected by his blindness.
