H I A T U S

Vesperarium is currently on hiatus until the Spring. As you all know, the site has been slowing down for the past couple of months, and the Staff has been trying to find ways to spruce up member activity. While some of it has been successful, the Staff has decided to take a little break to regroup and come up with more ideas to make the site more enjoyable for you.

Don't worry though! Vesperarium won't be entirely shut down during the hiatus. We'll be keeping some sections such as the Galleries and Learning forums open for you to use while you wait.

So it's a small good-bye for now, but we hope you'll all join us again in the Spring for our grand re-opening. See you soon!
xoxo Vesperarium Staff

HOKAY. Another tut from me really?! Yes. Like I said, I am unemployed. Well not technically, since I got a job at Starbucks yesterday, woot! Anyway, I digress. Today, we will be making this baby:

I made it very randomly and it was all just a bunch of experimentation thrown together. And this time, we'll be going step by step. FUN!

What you'll need: hermione, ron, flower 1, flower 2, flower 3,
flower 4, balloons, book, texture, paper texture

STEP 1
Open a blank 700x100 canvas, fill with black. Take flower 1, resize it, set it to the right of your canvas and set it to Pin Light at 100%. Take flower 2, resize it, set it to the right of your canvas as well, and set it to Lighten at 100%. Take flower 3, resize it, set it in the middle of your canvas, and set it to Exclusion at 100%. Take your balloons, resize them a bit, set it just right of center, and set it at Darken at 100%. Take flower 2 again, resize it so it's a bit smaller than the first time, set it to the very left of your canvas, and set it to Lighten at 100%. Take flower 4, resize, move it just right of the balloons, and set it to screen at 100%. Take the book, resize it, move it just left of center, blend it, and set it to lighten at 100%. Take your texture, put it over everything, and set it to Exclusion at about 70%. Finally, take your paper texture, set it over everything, and set it to Color Burn at 100% Of course, you'll need to blend all that together, I use layer masks! Should look a little something like this, don't worry if it's a bit sloppy, we'll cover it!

STEP 2
Then, I copy merged everything and went to Filter->Pixelate->Fragment. I then faded it with Dissolve to around 40%. So then take your main photos, blend them in creatively, and sharpen, blur, etc. however you want. Then I added my two main photos, resized, blended. Experiment! Hokay.

STEP 3-COLORING
New Color Layer-fill with #281b43, set to Lighten at 54%

And that's it for the coloring!

Text-for 'a shadow passed' I used JBStyle, size 23, 20 spacing, and with warped text set to Flag at +27. I also duplicated the text, moved it underneath, gave it a small motion blur, and a small fragment filter, and set it to 84% Opacity. For 'yearning, yearning,' I used Day Roman, size 7, 100 spacing, with a drop shadow and bevel/emboss. I also moved all of the text layers under a few color layers.

DONE! Oh, and I used the same exact coloring for this banner:
