Title: Free Photo Editing Program

Cornie - July 14, 2007 09:34 AM (GMT)
For those of you that do not have the excessive amounts of money needed to spend on Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro, there are some free programs out there.

PhotoPlus is one, along with GIMP

I know of a few tutorials for PhotoPlus if you decide to download but I don't know of any for GIMP.

ALSO: Thanks to Maerad, there is a plugin for PS Elements that allows you to use selective coloring. It can be found HERE. THANK YOU MAERAD!!!

Valliegurl @ LiveJournal uses GIMP and writes many GIMP tutorials.

I've been using GIMP for a year, so I can try and help people if they need help with anything.

There is also a Livejournal community for GIMP tutorials:

I have a question about PhotoPlus. Can you not resize images, or have I just not found the tool yet?

Cornie - July 29, 2007 02:58 AM (GMT)
I'm sure you can resize images. It's a default function in any program.

I'll ask around and see if I can find the tool.

A great one i found is Picnik

you cant do text or anything but it great for editing photos
and there are certain things there that i dont know how to do on photoshop even, so its very helpful and easy to use

however it is in beta mdoe or something right now, so everything is available, but when its done, not everything will be available without purchasing an account i believe, so hurry up while it lasts haha

also, its nifty because if your computer shuts down and you werent done editing your photo it saves it and when you log in the next time it asks if you want to continue editing the last one :]

Do these work on Apple Mac?

Iris Messenger - September 18, 2008 02:48 AM (GMT)
I know that Picnik and GIMP both work on macintosh, I'm using GIMP myself on my apple.
