Description: Beginners.

Here's another simple, but pretty, coloring tutorial. This works best on photos that have blue-green-ish colors already in them. If you have a pinkish icon, scroll down!

We're going to go from user posted image to user posted image in PSP9 (Translatable!).

1. Take your base (I got my photo from ewonline.net) and sharpen it, etc. Duplicate your base and set it to Screen. Fiddle with the opacity (Mine is at 75%).
user posted image > user posted image

2. Create a new layer and fill it with #030629. Set it to Exclusion 100%.
user posted image + user posted image = user posted image

3. Create a new layer and fill with #95e5f3. Set it to Burn 100%
user posted image + user posted image = user posted image
(Note: If you like your icon like this, you don't need to continue!)

4. Duplicate the base, drag it to the top and set it to Soft Light 100%.

You're done!

Now, if you have a pinkish icon, we're going to do something a bit different.

We're going to go from user posted image to user posted image.

1. Take your base (I got my photo from ewonline.net) and sharpen it, etc. Duplicate your base and set it to Screen. Fiddle with the opacity (Mine is at 55%).

user posted image + user posted image = user posted image

3. Create a new layer and fill with #fdbded. Set it to Burn 100%.
user posted image + user posted image = user posted image
4. Duplicate the base, drag it to the top and set it to Soft Light 100%.

You're done!

I'd love to see what everyone made! If you have any questions, feel free to reply or PM me.

What does dragging the base up to the top mean? cause when I do it literally, nothing happens. I do the last layer I did .I have a feeling that's wrong.

You have to duplicate the bottom layer, drag the copy to the top and set it to Soft light.

Lovely tutorial! I got these two.
