Added Colossal Damage Grids
Added Gargantuan Damage Grids

This update is very minor and is only intended to make playing Colossals/Gargantuans easier until I'm able to release a more comprehensive update.

To use the extension right click the current module in the VASSAL module library
(the window that opens when you run VASSAL) and select add extension, browse to the location of the downloaded file and select it.

First of all I'd like to say a big thank you to the guys for producing the Vassal WM/Hordes module. It's fantastic!

A quick question though re the 4.2.2 extension.

When I download the file I get a zipped folder, I unpack it and it turns into a standard folder containing what looks like lots of separate files.

Following the guidelines for adding the extension doesn't get me anywhere, I can't add the folder as a whole and when I try to add the individual elements Vassal tells me they are not valid extensions.

I'm sure it's me that's doing it wrong, but not being a computer wizz, I need a little help.

Just as an insight I'm using a Windows 7 laptop, I don't know if that helps but I thought I'd include it none the less.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Alex

Not every step here is required but this worked for me, and is a neat way to organise it.
  • Created a new folder named Vassal in your Documents (or wherever you want to keep the mod and extensions), and a sub folder Mod (optional but what I do, I have other folders in the Vassal folder for save games, loading continuations etc)
  • Put the Mod (vmod file), and the Grids zip file in the Mod folder
  • Open the module in Vassal, make sure it runs etc etc, goes through its setup process.
  • Close the module if it is open, then open Vassal but DO NOT open the module. Instead, right click on the Warmachine module in the Moducle library and select "Add Extenson", navigate to and select the Grids zip folder in the Mod directory you made earlier (or wherever it is)
  • That is it, does not seem to update the version number in the module library from 4.2.1 to 4.2.2 but there will be a little arrow to the left of the Module name in the module library, click that and it toggles the list of added extensions, the Grids 4.2.2. should be in there.
  • Run the module as normal, enjoy

There will be other ways, obviously that is a clean install, if you cannot work it out from there how to just do the extension then uninstall the module and start from the beginning.
