Confused and Crazed

He stared out over the desolate land. The whole thing with Tandra was still bugging him. But he was trying to push that aside for the moment. Headaches had returned, reminding him that another one of his crazy bouts was coming. It could be a day, hours, or minutes before he lost it once again. Baya looked down at his world through acidic green eyes. His red mane scraggly and his fur a little tabby, he didn't appear to be quite the genius he was. But his brute strength and intellectual knowledge came at a high price. The adolescent lion went crazy every so often, for no known reason. That was one thing beyond his knowledge, thus far. And his relationship with Tandra was another...
Boredly, he flopped down. Although he didn't realize it, he was humming a soft tune. His mother used to sing to him as a cub before she was murdered. Slowly, his eyes closed and the humming continued. He was lulled into deep sleep after a long while. That stupid song was coming up in his mind more and more often. The thing was he didn't realize when he was humming it. And often the faint voice of his mother singing in his head went unnoticed. At least his subconscious recognized it. But his days had become confusing hazes. That or crazed malice when his mind went off again.

Tandra walked up the slope, very apprehensively. She really missed Baya and had been looking for him all day. If he wasn't up here, then it would come at a high disappointment. She began to wonder if the other members of the pride had felt a pain like this and that's why they acted the way they did. Tandra now knew was true hurt felt like. If it was over between them, she at least had to know what caused it.
When she finally saw him, her heart nearly busted with joy, but she couldn't just go and nuzzle him like before. Holding back her emotion, she walked toward him, trying to look at intimidating as possible.
