Hi guys.

Spencer had a tremendous idea in Static the other day, (Got to have at least one every so often, eh?). I thought I'd share it with you and see what you thought.

We're all wargamers here and we all have the same problem, but for once, I'm not referring to our fascination with oninism. No, I'm talking instead about heaps of unpainted models that we can't possibly reconcile buying, but can't seem to stop ourselves from acquiring!!

To take advantage of next year's impending Mark II release and to alleviate the guilt of having literally thousands of pounds worth of unpainted PP minis at the club, we suggest a regular, monthly warmachine night on the last tuesday.

The idea is that you show up for the first MKII game with a 15 point list. No more, no less, but they must be built and painted. Each month, we increase the points bracket by a little bit and you add assembled, painted models to meet the target.

I know, I know it's all been done before, but it seems to go down really well and undoubtedly helps people to focus their painting and building. The real bonus will be knowing that you can show up at G3 on a particular night each month, looking for a game of MKII and having a decent chance of getting one without arranging it beforehand. It would also allow us to run some campaigns and special scenarios, but we'd have to see what attendance is like first.

Reply to this thread to register your interest and if enough people get on board, we can make the first one the 24th of November.

Tom

Not so worried about the painting but i'd like the idea of a campaign, me and the murchies did the escalaltion one and it was awesome, some of the best games i played.

I'd be happy to run one.

Ditto. I'm fine for painting but would definitely take part in a campaign. Well, I will if you hurry up and get into Malifaux tongue.gif

Jimbo, if you've done it before, then we'd be better in your hands than mine.

Bo bo - I'm skinto mate, but will get into the Faux as soon as funds permit!!!!

Well, when the Hordes MK II rules roll around, I'll try and make the effort. Been far too long since I've been down there.

Malifaux, pfft. We all know what the rising star of games is.

Aha, Mephaine! Indeed, it's good (and a little odd actually) to see a fellow 40Kforumite.

New players are always welcome, and it won't be long before you fit right into the system.

On the contrary I found it took ages to get out of the 40k mindset. Warmachine requires a lot more thinking! Good to have some fresh blood on the boards! If you pop down any tuesday night there's people plaing Warmachine/hordes so feel free to pop in and watch a game. I'm sure our illustrious Pressganger's will give you a demo as well.

Sadly Tuesday is one of my few nights I can not attend due to college *grumbles. If I can I will pop by but I read the rules and been figuring out strategies already. SO far it is a far more amusing prospect than 40k and gives me what I always desired. A mental challenge. I mean there is so much to do and think. I hope I can come along some nights cause tbh this game seems right up my street.

Warmahordes and mental challenge? Does not compute.......

You can also attend GUGS on most saturdays at the QM Union. Fun stuff there too. Although it's best to arrange a game beforehand.

Blaze, you play Trolls. I wouldn't expect you to be able to handle any form of finesse! Now Cryx on the other hand, that's a victory you have to finely weave.

hehe seems like I made the right choice to start this game up. Hopefully next week I can come up to your gaming night and have a quick gander. Hopefully if I go I get some awesome pointers on how to figure out some lovely Combos for my Retribution.
