Just to give everyone a heads up, these are the tournaments that we are hosting in Canterbury - and yes they're not all Warmachine/Hordes.

23 Jan - Warmachine/Hordes 350pt - Woolf
27 Feb - Uncharted Seas - Missing Link
27 Mar - Warmachine/Hordes 500pt/AGScon? - Woolf
15 May - Alkemy - Woolf
05 Jun - Armageddon 2000pt Warmachine/Hordes- Missing Link

Woolf is the location used for the last tournament (and I promise that we will have the divider opened!), Missing Link is the old location.

For the moment we will be running under Mark I rules, I will note when we change very largely and very specifically!

I look forward to seeing many of you soon!

Dave

Hi Dave,

I'm not sure why you are running MK1 in 2010, when even PP say it's the year of Mk2

I know once Hordes MK2. is released in 3 weeks, no one at Tanelorn will be playing Mk1 again, and I would find it hard to see them going to a Mk1 event.

I can kind of see the Jan event, as we only have 2-3 months with Hordes & WM (via PDF's) and less than 1 month with the offical WM books, but March & June as well ?

Just my $0.02 mate wink.gif

No-one at my end wants to play Mark 2 yet, particularly for the Armaggeddon Tournament.

Most of my guys want to see the actual books in hand - remember also that we are only seeing the playtest of Hordes this month - the "real" pdf will not be out till January. Other conerns is that Cygnar will get new stuff in a book before the other forces and so people will not get a look at the new stuff if they don't buy the figures.

Your tournaments mate, and if thats what people in your area are telling you then that's all fine, I just don't see many people outside your gaming group wanting mk1 events. unsure.gif

Got to agree with John. This seems a bit of a strange move, unless you're trying to keep other people way?

Have any of your guys actually played MKII yet? It is a much better game.

Regarding Cygnar having a book before others, all they'll get is one each of Caaster, Jack, Unit, Solo (give or take), so I'm not sure it's that big a deal.

This is a shame. I really like going to your tournaments. But I've no interest playing an old system.

We have played Mark 2 - although not extensively. The problem is generally that the guys down here don't like change too much.

I'll have further discussions with them, but I do hope to see many of you in January at the 350 point Mark I.

I doubt it mate, from end of Nov we will most probably be MK2 only at the club.

TBH about 4-6 players are already have started playing MK2 WM only, and won't even touch MK1, and stoped going to tournaments in 2009.
