| well, ive already told this story, but its my favorite story about a PUG... Back on that one before the henge of denravi with the carrying stones. Funny thing is, this was a PUG where everybody but me and a ranger left. Me a N*Aramil Nailo (not support at the time as i can remember) and this R/somethink, stood there stunned as all the human players fell apart in under 2min. He pretty much said, "you wanna try it anway?" I said, "sure we might get some good loot" pretty much we ended up finishing the entire mission and made it to the henge of denravi... two people. If i can remember correctly we gathered TL members and didnt make it... | |

| I actually found a decent PUG in the Gates of Kryta mission w/ my new monk this weekend. Fortunately, I'd switched to healer mode before entering even though we had a second monk. Said monk actually either disco'd or bailed on us as soon as we got in, even though he was the party leader. So then there were five. Maybe it was because we were shorthanded, or maybe because we'd all done it before, but we actually got the bonus and mission done w/ only one death. I don't take responsibility for the death tho, as the warrior ran too far out of my casting range to heal, and he got hammered on faster than I could catch up. This was at the second mob after hooking up w/ the Justicar (still feels weird fighting alongside them at that point). Once I got them all to stop standing in the poison swamps after that it was pretty easy. They knew I was the lowest lvl in the group, so most of them checked on my energy before moving on. However, I actually have 48 energy even at my lvl w/ a +12 offhand and the Denravi +5 energy sword, so it was never really an issue. And me, the guy who hates playing a monk, actually had a good time doing so this time around. It's still weird focusing on the team HP bars instead of the enemies, but as long as I kept them alive and kicking, along with helping to call targets, it went pretty smoothly. And it was way cheaper & faster than trying to find a runner to LA. |

| I'd call that a lucky find It does remind me of my first time in thirsty river tho. I went in with a group that knew exactly what to do and I just followed orders. They knew the timing well, where to go and just gave great directions on what to do next and just didn't rush. I don't think I've gone through that mission easier even with TL members |

| As we all know, joining any PUG is a desperate attempt in getting any missions done with a success rate of something low like 20% of the time and through a lot of pain. However, every now and then you find yourself grouped with a bunch of amazing people who are willing to work together and you breeze through the mission as if you are to pick up Gwen’s flute in pre-searing. I am making this thread so that we can put some of the fond memories we have in a great PUG and that may inspire others to give them a chance. The most recent experience I have was in Ring of Fire with my spiker. Nowadays with MIA being the trend for both my guildies and people on my friend’s list, I find myself just sign on and chat most of the time. And while doing so tonight in RoF, I saw someone in the local chat post, “Starting a group now, just invite yourselves.” So I figure, what the heck, if I die during the mission, maybe I can at least cap an elite before doing so. So I clicked on invite and sure enough, I was accepted into the party. After waiting for the party to fill up, our set up was: R/Mo, W/Mo, W/E, W/N, E/N, Mo/E, N/E, N/Me. Ranger only had healing springs on him and basically uses the monk park for rez as was the warrior with vigorous spirit. Our monk had no DF but healing was very high as the heal party was 71 (I suspect the healing was at level 16). One of the necros had well of blood as well as me carrying well of power. At first thought after we started the mission, I knew that if anyone of us rushed, we would have teleported back to RoF. However, despite the fact that we are a bit low in the healing department and we can’t use the wells off jades, we managed to go through the front gate and finish the mission without too much trouble with a lot of jokes along the way. Most of us end up with a morale boost and a proud pat on our backs. And it is because of these great experiences that have kept my hopes alive in PUGs for the futures to come. |
