Since October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month I thought I should bring attention to this website where for every click a portion of a mamogram is funded for someone by the website's sponsers.
This is an ongoing thing that I've been doing daily for at least a year so I encourage you all to do the same, but this October if they can get a full 500 mamograms funded then the sponsers will donate an additional 150 mamograms.
So many women are affected by Breast Cancer and every woman is at some level of risk regardless of race, age, nationality, or socioeconomic standing. And since this is a board made up of primarily women, I ask that everyone take the time to click and give someone who really needs it a fighting chance.

This November The Breast Cancer Site is running a similar program as what ran in October since October's program was so successful. This time if they can manage 500 mamograms funded by the advertisers generated from the clicks of people all over the world then The Breast Cancer Site is going to donate an ultrasound machine to a needy hospital in Africa.
As I said last month, breast cancer is a disease that affects everyone regardless of demographic. Here are some interesting facts I think I should point out to educate the masses.
>>In 2005, breast cancer caused 502,000 deaths
>>It is the second most leading cause of death for women
>>And it is the fifth most common cause of cancer death
>>Women in the U.S. have a 1 in 8 lifetime chance of developing invasive breast cancer and a 1 in 33 chance of breast cancer causing their death
>>Because the breast is composed of identical tissues in males and females, breast cancer also occurs in males, though it is less common
So while it is important that people in Africa be given equipment that will help save lives and improve their quality and occurance of medical treatment as well as their faith in the treatments themselves, it is equally important that women all across the country be given the opportunity for equal breast health.
