Hey! I was just wondering what everyone thought was the most slashable books/movies. Just post 'em here. These are my personal favs:

Most Slashable
-Boy meets Boy (a book about gay boys. Very slashable and hot)
-Lord of the Rings (duh! Both the book and the movie)
-Harry Potter (Im a intense Harry/Draco fan. Yum!)
-Radio Free Roscoe (not everyone here will know of this. Its a Canadian TV show and although quiet stupid, very slashy)
-Gravitation (manga still qualifies as books right? Manga about gay dudes....so obviously very slash-filled)

I'll think of more eventually.....

Later! :jerry:

PotC - pairing Will Turner and Jack Sparrow, or even more interestingly, Jack and the worthy Commodore Norrington

but that's about it. Personally, I don't see slash in LotR. I see only male friendship. Still, I like reading Legolas/Aragorn slash. But I don't really want to think about Frodo getting it on with anyone. I just don't feel that for hobbits. They're so small!

As to Harry Potter... there are some cute moments with Harry and Ron but even though it's possible to read more than friendly feelings into it, I don't think there is any real homosexual content. But what an interesting twist it would be if either Ron or Harry would turn out to be bisexual and fall in love with his best mate! Man, that would just rock!

Anyway, I think it's possible to see slash in basically anything.

Movies:
- Yossi & Jagger -- lots of extremely cute guykissage going on here.
- A home at the end of the world, with Colin Farrel -- apparently he's going to snog a guy as well. Haven't seen that one yet, but I will someday.
- La Mala Educación -- R-rated slash is love
- Y tu mama también -- a guysnog at the end. Loved that one.

Books:
- The entire Vampire Chronicles-series by Anne Rice -- whoa. So subtle and sensual, it's really really great.
- At Swim, Two Boys by Jamie O'Neill -- great slash here! Whee! Very cute Doyler also.
- Fingersmith by Sarah Waters (?) -- if you like femmeslash you should read this.

There are a lot more but I can't remember anything else at the moment. Great thread though!

Movies:

Latter Days- [gay film] I really want to see this film but I can't get my paws on a encoding two version :cries: Someone see it for me  Religion getting in the way of love, but love triumphant.
Angels in America- [gay mini series] 80s America, AIDs, religion/belief. Very surreal but works brilliantly. Killer cast!
Wilde- [gay film] Oscar Wilde, Stephen fry...
The Talented Mr. Ripley- [definite undercurrents]

Enemy at the Gates [Subtext] Vassili/Danilov (or I like to think so anyways ;D)

Books:

Latter Days: T. Fabris- [Gay Lit] Weeee! Love it.
The Spell: Alan Hollinghurst [Gat Lit] If I tried to explain it would get very confused but most all of the characters are gay.
Lost Souls: Poppy Z. Brite [Gay Lit] Drugs, lust, alcohol, new Orleans street life.
Brokeback Mountain: Annie Proulx [Gay Lit] Cowboy love.

Harry Potter [subtext] Remus/Sirius :D
Hamlet [Subtext] Hamlet/Laertes  (most of Shakespeare has subtext if you look for it heheh)

I've got only one at the moment:
The Picture of Dorian Gray, by Oscar Wilde: Definite subtext there. Not much action though.

^^ Yeah, Hamlet, most definitely! But I think he has more slashy moments with Horatio rather than Laertes.

"Horatio: Good night, sweet prince! May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest."

Sorry if the quotation isn't accurate to the letter... can't be bothered to check it. But notice - sweet prince!

Yup Horatio too. That's the rather more obvious pairing.

Book + Movie

Enduring Love: Ian McEwan
In an odd, round about way, buried in loads of scary science. I've read this book so many times and it was so obvious I didn't notice. One guy has a medical condition where he believes another guy is in love with him and he requites this love, but really he's very disturbed and insane. The balloon one. If you've seen the movie?

Maurice, by E.M. Forster.

I read this book last week, and God, it's gorgeous! You all probably know what it's about since it's a classic, so to speak, but I'll insert the summary anyway:

QUOTE
Maurice tells the story of a handsome, rather superior young man with a flair for business, a man who is deeply conventional but for one element that puzzles him, torments him and, when finally admitted, saves him. Through Clive, whom he encounters at Cambridge, and through Alec, the gamekeeper on Clive's country estate, Maurice gradually experiences a profound emotional and sexual awakening.

(From the cover on the book.) Yes. So, the book is gorgeous, Forster's language is wonderful as well and this book is well worth a read.

i loved the slashiness of the talented mr ripley too

erm i haven't really seen/read any slashy stuff, but for outright male on male shagging, i loved the UK version of queer as folk. i think it was the first real gay thing i saw.
either that or the warren relationship in this life.

i dunno if youre not in the uk you won't know what i mean anyway!

^UK queer as folk all the way!

Some more gay movies that are absolutely brilliant:

Loving Annabelle Femmeslash. Teacher student relationship, beautiful beautiful movie.
Get Real Independent Brit film. Boys at school. The 'cool' one falls for the less cool but more secure one.
Stonewall Gay rights movement. Lots of drag! Love it.
Hedwig and the Angry Inch Glam rock, drag, and slash <3
Beautiful Thing Another Brit flick. London. School kids. coming of age.

I just thought of another movie: Blow Dry. It's the Yorkshire accents I've got it stuck in my head. This movie is crazy and so much fun with an amazing cast, Rachel Griffiths, Natasha Richardson, Bill Nighy, Alan Rickman. The basic premise is that there is a hair dressing competition being held in Keighley and it brings back together a team that had been divided when the wife of one character fell in love with the model (another woman).

Eeeep. And while I have Alan Rickman on the mind (long may he stay there) :P Saying this one is a gay film kind of gives the whole plot away, but: Dark Harbor. Just watch it... and don't switch off when the beginning seems really slow because everything happens in the last five mins. And it’s a little bit of a: whoa, I did not see that coming, kind of film.

gay Alan Rickman? interesting....
I saw a movie still (from a non-gay film) of him and Liam Neeson together and thought they might make a nice slashy pairing....
