This might not apply to everyone, but it's pretty cool to think about either way.



Alrighty. So, your character has some kind of name, right? Right. And of course, that name has to come from somewhere.

Basically, I'm just curious to know where everyone got their character's names from. If it be like....a magazine clipping, or even a random foreign word. I remember that one time, I just stole my friend's name and used it because I was lacking of creativity at that moment.



Techically, I have two characters in this one;

Jung Hee Young
-- I actually had to go to Babynames.com or something like that for this one. I do have a Korean friend, but his name is Aaron Lee, so yeah. That's not going to work very well. So, I had to look up something and I chose three names that I liked and bunched them all together.

-- Jung Hee is Six's doner. So, of course, Jung Hee was eighteen when the DNA was taken from him, so that's automatically going to be the first number. The second number was actually slightly thought-out. First, it was going to be 23 because that was the first number that I thought of. But then I was all like "Nah, I don't like that". So, I really got to thinking and then I thought of 6 because Six's portrayal, Lee Junki, was voted as the sixth sexiest guy in Korea. xD




So yeah. There's mine, as an example of sorts.

[Ava Carmichael]

Ah, I lacked creativity with Ava's name. My friend used the name on another site, just as her character's dead wife, and I liked the name, so I decided to use it. As for last names, Carmichael, I just thought it up....

Usually I decide ahead a time what type of name I want them, as in, german, french, russian, greek, Irish...I use alot of Irish names, their meh favorite =D
Other wise a name might just come to me or my friends will mention something and it's oh...oh, I do like that. Hmmm, and an idea comes to my head, and another idea, followed by a couple more which means...BAM, new character.

This happens very, very frequently, I'll try to be careful on this site. Just ask Anna, I've had an insane amount of character's on sites before. erm, I think the highest was 14, and yes, they were all active. Haha, that was before finals, now I'm sort of dead on every site, but cross my heart and hope to die, that will end in a week or so after finals.

Ohh and I love babynames.com, usually I get an idea or a personality before I find an actual name, and I'll use that a lot to surf up some names.

[Tony Cale]

I've never used babynames.com. Anyway, on here I only have one (for now) and his name is pretty obvious. It's how I usually come up with names (other than Elizabeth Tucker - a common female name I use). So ...

TONY - I took the actor I wanted to use and went to IMDB.com for him. He plays a character named Tony DiNozzo on a show called "NCIS", so I went with the first name Anthony aka "Tony" because I liked the sort of attitude he played the character with.

ROBERT - Okay, Tony (my charrie)'s first name is actually Robert. This was because of ... I can't remember my reason. It just sounded like a strong, but slightly generic name.

CALE - The last name. If you've ever seen Dark Angel (which this site is partially based off of), then you know that the actor I picked for Tony plays Logan Cale on DA. So, I couldn't come up with a last name I liked, so I went with Cale. *nod*
