The Five Clans

The S'C Clans occupy the lake-lands featured in the newer Warriors books.
Thunder, Wind, River, and Shadow territories mimic the books. Sky makes their home north of Thunder & Shadow, in a territory unique to S'C. Unlike the original four, Sky does not have access to the lake.

ThunderClan Camp
ThunderClan's camp is surrounded on three sides by massive, towering granite cliffs dug out by Twolegs long ago. The fourth is enclosed by a thick wall of thorny bracken, put in place by the cats themselves as a barrier. Near the end of the camp is a pile of rocks known as the Highledge, where meetings are held. At the top of this pile is the entrance to a tiny cave that serves as the leader's den. There are similar caves for the elders and apprentices to dwell and a hollowed out thornbush for the warriors to sleep. A similar, tangled nest of brambles acts as a nursery, with a lichen-covered cave nearby as the medicine cat's den. A spring of fresh water lays in the back and the ground is soft and sandy, ideals for caring for sick cats.

Ancient Oak
The grandest tree in the forest. At the edge of ThunderClan's woods by the lake stands this massive king of plant life. The lower branches are broad enough for several full-grown warriors to sit abreast, and strong enough for half the Clan to perch on one branch alone. The trunk stretches far into the sky. Toward the top, birds roosts during the summer; and the base is a knot of thick, looping roots.

Old Thunderpath
A wide trail through the heart of ThunderClan where twolegs once drove their monsters. Now abandoned, this long dirt road is covered in short, yellow grasses. The area provides a great training terrain. Cats also use it, in a sense, for its original purpose - to get from place to place. The Old Thunderpath helpfully skirts by the Abandoned Twoleg Nest, the Camp, and the Ancient Oak.

Woods
Woodland terrain that makes up the majority of ThunderClan's land. Unlike the Pine Forest of the neighboring Clan, the Woods in ThunderClan are bright. The trees occur far enough apart that sunlight shines through, and clearings are all over. Also, the trees are diverse. Oaks, maples, pines, and birches combined with assorted bushes and shrubs make the forest a colorful, beautiful place.

Borders
The edges of ThunderClan's land. Down the wooded to the east dwells WindClan of the grassy hills. ShadowClan looms beyond the treeline to the west. Both of these borders are carefully regulated with scent marks and routine patrols. The southern border is the lake. When cats go here, it's usually for play over work.

WindClan Camp
The WindClan camp, a mere shallow hollow in the ground, is very exposed to the elements. There are several large boulders littering the camp, one of which is known as ‘Tallrock’, from which the leader conducts ceremonies. A second, slightly hollow boulder with a crack in the side acts as the medicine cat’s den. A tangle of gorse up against this towering rock serves as a nursery, and other similar bramble structures serve as dens throughout the camp. Many old badger sets and fox dens exist within the camp, ideal for escaping to someplace dry when the weather turns foul.

Borders
To the south the Twolegplace accompanied by a roaring Thunderpath make up WindClan’s borders. The west is encompassed by nothing but the shores of the lake itself. In the north WindClan’s borders end at ThunderClan’s woodland territory just beyond a freshwater stream. To the east lays nothing but wide, empty plains, leading out into the great unknown.

Tallhill
WC/TC Swing Territory
A high peak in the land with a good view. Tallhill is a highly contested territory because it's on the ThunderClan side of the Moonpool stream, but the terrain, rolling and grassy, mimics WindClan's. The hunting is excellent, although you have to quick enough to catch the rabbits that live here. Also, the top of the hill is a great vantage point to view much of WindClan's territory and the forested edge of ThunderClan.

Rolling Plains
Beyond the WindClan camp lays a stretch of lush, rolling hills that extend all the way to the border of their territory. It is here the agile WindClan cats hunt the rabbits that make up the majority of their diet. The grass is tall and uncut, making the location ideal for stalking prey among its waving stalks.

Broken Halfbridge
At the end of a rarely used Twoleg path is the half-bridge. Constructed of sun-bleached wooden planks, it extends a small distance out onto the lake. This strange piece of architecture’s purpose is unknown and due to its broken-down state Twolegs rarely, if ever, pay it a visit.

RiverClan Camp
Well sheltered home of RiverClan. On a secluded triangle of land, there lies the protected camp of the water loving cats; safe from enemies and the weather, it is cut off from the rest of the territory by two streams. A dense wall of reeds adds further protection.

One Tree Field
A lone tree just outside camp. A large, solitary oak stands guard just past the camp, giving a home to many species of prey; including vole, mice, and squirrel. Occasionally, an eagle or hawk might also roost here, so it is safe to be wary. Sometimes raccoons also pass through here. It is a nice place to stand watch, as it overlooks much of the territory.

Shell Islands
A series of islands breaking the flow of the rivers. Here lies a few small islands that stop the flow of the lake, and are responsible for the creation of several, smaller streams. There are not as many shells here, but the prey is certainly plentiful and it is a nice place for apprentices to come train. Twolegs things can be found here, too, and sometimes in Greenleaf the Twoleg kits come and catch frogs.

Scattered Woods
A plain dotted by many trees. Warriors come here to hunt much of the time, as it is full of rodents and other creatures suitable for eating. A wide variety of trees paint the landscape; including a few oaks, bushes, and a rather large pine tree that is home to a rather noisy family of squirrels. Chipmunks are also commonly found here.

Borders
The border between WindClan. It is best to avoid the thundering of hooves, as it announces the border between cats of the water and warriors of the wind. Besides, who wants to deal with loud, stomping horses anyway?

Greenleaf Twolegplace
RC/ShC Swing Territory
An area full of Twolegs during Greenleaf. During the harsh moons of Leafbare, this place is silent and empty. But once the sun rolls around again, this place becomes a haven for Twolegs! It is best to be cautious around here. Sometimes, their kits can be seen jumping off the halfbridge, and large water monsters come out of a house on the edge of the lake. Prey is hard to come by here, due to the noise.

ShadowClan Camp
ShadowClan's Camp exists as a thin basin hidden behind a sea of tangled branches and large pine trees. The camp's dens are organized very neatly along the edge of the basin, constructed of various woodland materials. The medicine cat's den exists beneath a small patch of clear sky so that one can watch the sky for signs from StarClan. The elder's den and the nursery are primarly located near the lowest hanging tree branches so that they may escape quickly if the need arose. One of these particularly thick branches hangs over the leader's den and is ideal for calling meetings.

Shadepool
A deep, clear pool just outside of Camp. This is a frequent gathering place for ShadowClanners. The pool and the mossy clearing around it are often lit with sunlight or moonlight, depending on the time, and it's always beautiful. But because the water is so clear, it's looks a lot shallower than it is. Kits are forbidden coming here for fear that they might try to cross the water to the wide rock in the pool's center.

Pine Forest
Thick forest with heavy underbrush that makes up much of ShadowClan territory. The trees, for the most part, are various sorts of pines that grow close together. Because of this, the forest floor is largely covered in needles. Sky can be seen in cracks between the trees, and a clearing here and there provides a respite from the shadowy nature of the forest floor.

Halfbridge
Wooden plank bridge jutting several yards into the lake. ShadowClanners aren't great fishercats, but here is decent spot snag a meal if you mind getting wet. Fish congregate in the shadows around the bridge, and the water reeds close to shore hide frogs and the occasionally bird. Mostly, the bridge is a great place to sun. On bright days the planks are warm and comfortable.

Borders
The edges of ShadowClan territory. To the south lies the highly-contested Greenleaf Twolegplace. Beyond, in that direction, is RiverClan. The border with ThunderClan is at a stream; ThunderClan occupies the land west of that stream. Loners and rogues live in the barren land to the north, while the Southern border meets the lake.

Clearing
ShC/TC Swing Territory
A long clearing running along the creek border on the ThunderClan side. ThunderClan makes claim to this region because it is, after all, on their side of the creek; but Shadow, large in number, feels a need for the extra land. It probably wouldn't be fought over, but the Clearing has plantlife in variety and attracts many prey animals. The hunting proves reliable here, and medicine cats love the herbs and berrys available in this area.

SkyClan Camp
A small network of caves within the canyon serve as a perfect home the cats of SkyClan. The source of Kit-deep River comes, seemingly, from one wall of the canyon close to the end. The river does not originate quite at the end of the canyon, however, so a stretch of land farther north remains dry - a perfect center of camp. The dens lie in the hard rock walls. Paw-level entrances to the dens in the walls open into short tunnels connected to dark but spacious living quarters. Such dens could house many cats, and once did.

Smoothstone Canyon
Tall, pale beige precipices encompass a large portion of the SkyClan territory, making their lands a rather hazardous place. Made of large sections of clay sediment, granite, shale and igneous rock, that cliffs are sheer, only allowing for a few, lower peaks along their drop. The canyon is highly unstable, rocks breaking away easily from their bases—so that even whole sections may fall. One must be on their guard at all times to not step over the edge, for one will easily find himself losing their footing on the unstable surface, and the drop is high enough to kill even the most sure-footed cat. The high cliffs are prone to rockslides, which can easily increase to landslides during the wetter months. Despite the perils they present, the granite and shale within the canyon causes it to glitter in both sunlight and moonlight beautifully.

The Junction
The area beyond the canyon's mouth is where Kit-deep River narrows into Moonpool stream. This terrain, unlike the rest of SkyClan, is full of a wide variety of plant life. ThunderClan and WindClan border SkyClan sharply here, which is why SkyClanners have begun to call this place 'The Junction.' Enemy Clans cats are a common site, particularly because the Moonpool lies but a step beyond the tree-line to the south. But far more common than enemy cats is the prey - various forest dwelling animals that make an quick catch for a well-trained SkyClanner.

Rock Plains
Harsh, rocky terrain improved only slightly by clumps of yellow grasses, bramble bushes, and the occasional, sick-looking tree. The Rock Plains make up most of SkyClan's humble territory. One needs thick paw pads and strong hind legs to maneuver over the uneven ground and frequent boulders. Food is here, but the predator must be quick enough to catch it. Birds, like killdear, crows, and grouse, are troublesome prey. But since the mice and rabbits of the Rock Plains are skinny and uncommon, cats put in the extra effort to catch the flyers.

Borders
Edges of SkyClan territory. Where dry, rocky land meets pine trees in the southwest is the border with ShadowClan, but where the rocky lands meets leafy woodlands in the southeast is ThunderClan. Meanwhile, SkyClan's southernmost border is close to the Moonpool. The fringes of their territory brush WindClan here. Harsh rogue and loner terrain presses on SkyClan from the north, east, and the west.

Moonpool
A circular reflecting pool in a clearing ringed by trees. Clan cats consider this place sacred, a way to connect with their ancestors in Silverpelt. The clearing itself is, at night, lighted by stars; and the moon casts an unearthly glow on the pool. Just past the trees in the north, a strip of land begins to slope sharply downward. This ravine entrance, which can be seen from the Moonpool, is the beginning of SkyClan territory.

The realm of the dead. Here, spirits of all cats, good and evil, gather to watch their living counterparts on the earth. In Silverpelt spirits of the Clans dwell. Gathering Island
Near to the edge of the lake is nestled a mid-sized, circular island. Several ancient pine trees ring its outer edge and their prickly needles carpet the ground. One of these trees was sundered by lightning and now touches the shore on the other side, making the island accessable via this natural bridge. The island exists in between RiverClan and WindClan's territories, and one must cross them to make it to the gathering every month.

Twoleg Place
Twolegs are notorious for strange contraptions and harboring kittypets. This area is inhabited by twolegs; a strange black path attracts monsters like flies to dead flesh, and it leads to a place where fences buzz and dogs howl; not to mention the giant four-legged animals that pant and stomp. This place is very dangerous and should be widely avoided.

Wild Places
Dried pools, caked mud, dusty plains, and sparse vegetation are all one could hope to find in these "loner lands." These lands stretch from SkyClan's borders to the northern mountains. Clan members rarely visit this place; it has so little to offer that the risks of venturing here greatly outweigh the benefits. Moisture is hard to come by in this place; the ground is cracked and dry and, with the exception of areas close to the low-lying Dry River, will greedily swallow any moisture that happens to condensate.
