SRWG's Rules and Regulations

SRWG.ORG'S PRIMARY DIRECTIVES AND ORDERS

Ignorance is NOT an excuse for breaking them. SRWG is NOT a democracy and order has to be maintained, so this means you have little "right to free speech and freedom of expression". The "Bill Of Rights" does not apply here, so if you got a problem, go somewhere else. You have been warned. Ignore the rules at your own peril.

LURKING IS FINE BUT HIGHLY DISCOURAGED.
Lurking is the process of signing up in SRWG and not making a single post, you're just here to read. That's fine, really. However due to a sudden influx of SPAM accounts (accounts registered by spambots), SRWG gets more spam accounts than legitimate lurker accounts. To combat this, Admins prune/delete accounts that have 0 posts, resulting in deletion of legitimate lurkers. We get complaints about it but we can't be blamed because we can't tell if a 0-post account is a lurker or spam account. Therefore, if you want to keep your account, it's your responsibility to make at least 2 posts. That way we can tell you're a legitimate lurker and not a spam account, and you won't be pruned/deleted when we initiate mass deletions.

THE AVATAR/SIG RULES (FOLLOW THESE)
Here are the mody important rules to follow regarding your avatar/sig. Make sure to follow them strictly. These rules are the most-violated ones, so avoid getting in trouble, read and understand them.

1. The total file sizes of both your avatar and sig COMBINED must total to 45kbs or less.
2. The MAXIMUM dimensions for your sig must be 350 pixels wide (width) and 150 pixels high (height).
3. Sigs must have only ONE IMAGE/PIC. No multiple pics allowed.
4. No obscene, racial, political and offensive content allowed on both avatars and sigs.
5. No swear words are allowed.
6. Links are allowed in sigs as long as they don't link to illegal stuff like MP3s, warez, emulators, ROMs, hacks, porn, hentai, or any content that are obscene, racial and politically offensive. Gameplay video links are allowed.

Regardless if you're newbie or veteran, you will NO LONGER BE WARNED and will be directly suspended on the spot when caught violating these rules. Your 1st suspension will last for 2 weeks (14 days). Once you are caught violating again, you will be perma-banned.

NEVER BRING FLAMEBAIT TOPICS FROM ANYWHERE TO SRWG.
Feel free to share RELEVANT information like SRW secrets, links, FAQs and the like, but no flamebait topics as well as casual and opinionated posts (examples include Evangelion/RahXephon interpretations). If there are "SRWG sucks" threads, just ignore them and prove that you're educated with a better quality of character. Stooping to a lower level makes you a worse person. If you troll, flame, or transfer flame/troll threads and topics especially from 4chan, GameFAQs or any other community to SRWG or vice-versa, you will be suspended or banned depending on the severity of the case.

NO LINKS TO ROMS, EMUS, WAREZ & ISOs!
We don't give a damn on whether you buy or play pirated video games or not. There will always be piracy and it's a fact, but by buying originals, you encourage and support the companies to make better, higher quality games in the future. Think of that for a change. You won't be suspended/banned if you ask how to tweak your emulator, but you will be if you ask where to get or download roms, emulators, warez, isos or any pirated software (including serial numbers). If you create topics that encourage, post or support piracy, you'll be banned.

SRWG'S POLICY ON NECROPOSTING:
In SRWG, Necroposting is defined as replying on threads that have been dead for at least 2 months since the last post. Unfortunately, giving any personal opinion, remark, view or impression on such threads is considered unimportant and hence you must not necropost these at all times. You MAY necropost if it's any of the following:

1. Asking a vital query/question
2. Confirming/clarifying any misunderstood info
3. Updating relevant/related info about the topic
4. Sharing/contributing info to improve the topic

Do not necropost on casual, social topics including polls. It's annoying and it pushes down the important, current ones. If you necropost without the vital reasons mentioned above your account will be suspended.

SRWG'S POLICY ON QUOTING:
Quoting is used when you're trying to prove a point, or when reacting to a certain statement/remark that someone's made on his/her post. It's ok to quote except:

1. Do NOT quote entire posts if they are immensely long. Quote only the necessary or relevant sentence/paragraph that you want to point out.
2. Take off ALL images when quoting posts with images. This is not excusable.
3. As quoting's a personal pet peeve to Daba, try to avoid quoting any of his posts as much as possible. Although it's hard to prevent this completely, at least make an effort to try and avoid it.

Admins/Mods have the right to suspend those who are caught quoting posts with pics for 1 week (depending on the mood, they may or may not suspend you).

SWEARING SHOULD BE MODERATED.
Swear in moderation. Best if you don't swear at all. Excessive swearing takes out the funny factor in it and becomes inappropriate and rude. Keeping quiet is usually the best course of action. Take note that SRWG has some minors. Although swearing is tolerated, excessive swearing or troll-swearing will get you suspended, or depending on the degree of severity, you may be banned.

NO PORN ALLOWED!
No links, images or anything about porn. As for hentai, yaoi or yuri (be it games, manga, etc.), it can be tolerated but keep it low-key but it's best to avoid it altogether. If you're talking about those, put an R-18 warning on the thread title. Porn is not tolerated and you will be banned the minute you post any of those in SRWG.

AVOID TOPICS ON RELIGION AND POLITICS!
Respect each other's beliefs, or just keep it to yourself and shut up. Leave people be with their own cultures, beliefs and religions. If you wanna talk about religious matters (such as the Da Vinci Code) or politics (like if it's right for sending US troops to Iraq), try not to cause a ruckus and maintain an open mind with a professional unhostile atmosphere. In fact, it's better to avoid these topics. Remember the all-important phrase: KEEP YOUR OPINIONS TO YOURSELF. Mods will moderate and warn people if a thread is potential flamebait. If a flame war happens, both parties will be suspended, or banned if the case is severe. There will be no sides on who's "right" or "wrong".

TROLLING IS FORBIDDEN!
Unncessary hostile messages towards other members is strictly not allowed and proper conduct towards other members is EXPECTED from everyone. If you troll against anyone, you will be banned. If you troll against an admin or mod, you will be PERMANENTLY BANNED. If you retaliate to a troll, you will be suspended, or banned depending on severity. Trolling begets more trolling, that's the justification.

NO SPAMMING ALLOWED.
This requires common sense in your part. If you have a useless, brainless or pointless post, the mods have the right to delete your post at their discretion and other members have the right to report your post as spam to us if they think it is. If they do, we will investigate and determine the course of action for this. If you spam, you will be warned only once. If you spam again, you will be suspended. Spam again after you're suspended and you will be banned. If you spam excessively even at the 1st time, you will be automatically banned.

NO DOUBLE/MULTIPLE/CLONE ACCOUNTS ALLOWED.
This one is self-explanatory. There sure are a lot of them, but don't be surprised to find out one day that you got banned because we will slap you a surprise ban. We know who you are so straighten up your act. If you have multiple accounts, delete them now, because you will be perma-banned if we feel like it, even though we will most likely ignore you. Don't wait for us to do it.

DISRESPECT/INSUBORDINATION TO MODS/SUPER MODS = BAN.
Fine people (at least for admins) are recruited to become Mods/Super Mods in SRWG. Therefore, they are some of the most unlikely creatures on the net to cause trouble. In fact, they will usually be the first to end problems before an admin sees them. For short, if an admin deals with the problem himself/herself, it must be serious. So, if you're reprimanded by a mod for something, please follow them at all times. If they did something that you "think" is wrong, contact an admin about it and they'll handle it, it's that simple. If you totally disrespect, antagonize or simply do not follow a Mod/Super Mod's standing order on things, you may be suspended at the least, or banned if the case is a bit severe to totally severe.

DISRESPECT/ INSUBORDINATION TO ADMINS = PERMA BAN.
All admins have the right to UNCONDITIONALLY ban or suspend anyone when they are disrespected or their authorities are antagonized. Of all the people you could piss off, don't let it be the admins. SRWG requires ORDER, and if to show acknowledgement, you must respect admins. The admins are respectable and not abusive, or else they wouldn't be made admins in the 1st place. Remember that disrespecting an admin means digging your own grave.

These rules are subject to be change without prior notice. Until then, a full 100% compliance is expected from each and every member of SRWG. This is an agreement that everyone must follow and respect at all times.
