So this is a very simple tutorial to get a picture that looks sharp and full of colour. First off you need a picture like this.

Something that has potential for bright colour.
Right I always re-size my images… I resized it so the pixel dimensions were 85 by 85. Twice. I then cropped which bit I liked out, 100 by 100... I didn’t put a border on but you’re more than welcome too. I then sharpened it.

Should look like that. You should sharpen it, once or even twice for a more defined look, because if you don’t you won’t really be able to make out the picture - due to the resizing- and so the colour stands out.
Next I duplicated the base and set it to Screen 100. I did this because it makes the picture brighter. Then I duplicated it again. This time I went to ADJUST - HUE AND SATURATION and AUTOMATIC SATURATION ENCHANCEMENT. I then set the setting to Strong and More Colourful. Why I Did this is simple. It adds the colour.
This is a step that isn’t necessary, but it is pretty much something I do to all my graphics I duplicate once more. Press Shift and H for HUE SATURATION LIGHTNESS and then I set it to Hue - 0, Saturation - 0 and Lightness - 15; then I set that duplication to Soft Light.
