yes, it looks a little odd in IE. some of the coding doesn't work so well in that good old default. everything's still readable, but it looks prettier in Mozilla Firefox. it's a totally legit, free and awesome browser than Microsoft steals ideas from . so go download it and see the site in it's true glory. go on, do it! you know you want to. Litzi would like to add that it also looks bamfing in Safari, which is also free, and you can download that here, if you so wish.

so if you know anything about harry potter, you'll know blood status is one of the most confusing things of the lot. who's half-blood? who's pure-blood? well, although techincally a pure-blood is someone with no muggles at all in their direct bloodline, here's how we work it at tinte.
a pure-blood is someone whose parents and grandparents are all magical. past that is irrelevant.
a half-blood is someone whose has only one magical parent, or their parents are both magical, but any one or more of their grandparents are muggles.
muggleborns are wizards and witches with two muggles for parents. grandparents are irrelevant.

well, Quidditch is always a tricky one. all sites do it differently, but here at tinte, we've decided on the simplest. doing it randomly. each time we want to hold a Quidditch match, we'll pick out teams and will then be using a random number generator to determine the result and the scores. it won't be rigged in any way, trust us. or Litzi and I would be fighting over the winner. >:3
anyway, the results are not determined by any factors to do with the teams. however, we're not just going to post the results for you. that would be a little boring. instead, Litzi and I will be announcing the results of each match. and i don't just mean listing the results. it should be a little more interesting than that for you guys. ;D
also, for the sake of your plots, about a week before the match takes place, we'll post a notice. this allows you to rp some build up, and also, you can pm me or litzi. the way these Quidditch matches turn out can have a serious effect on some plots, so if you're looking for your character to get knocked off his broom for the sake of a plot twist, feel free to let me know. I'll consider it when writing up the commentary, but that doesn't make anything certain.
in light of this, when you sign up for the Quidditch teams, please be aware that you won't get any input into being a brilliant Quidditch player. this is school level Quidditch, and although there are certain levels of talent, everyone will be treated roughly the same. everyone has their wonder moments, and everyone gets knocked down a notch everyone once in a while. just look at Ron & Harry if you need proof. any unjustified complaints about how the Quidditch game is played could result in you being kicked off the team. however, in general, all players will be treated the same. if your character's not doing so well in one game, they'll probably be on fire in the next. so it will all turn out okay, if you give us some time.

ah, the plot. well, although it's a very shiny topic, you'll have noticed there's not really much drama there, right? that's because we've decided to be very open at tinte. we don't want to be an angsty site about voldemort junior. we want to leave our members open to explore what life is like as a young witch or wizard without our tinkering. the emphasis is very much on getting out there and making your own plots with our other members. don't think this means that there's nothing happening, though! we will be running various events over the course of the school year, and we'll encourage you to participate. but for the most part, this site is about you.

oh right, teachers! ali and i have discussed this at length, asked around, and we have decided that you can play teachers! isn't that exciting? now, obviously, since this is a canon-only site, the teachers you make will be from the staff list, and we will have to make sure your character fits in with the description we've written for them. we thought it would be quite a cool opportunity, since teachers are often overlooked, but you could always thread out a class, thread with other teachers - and stuff like that! if you have any questions, please ask! <3
