Chicago? It was... defiently different. But as the brunette looked around at the busy street before her she had to admit that she prefered Scotland much more than here. It wasn't that Chicago looked bad, it just... it sounded boring. It wasn't like, New York, or Los Angeles. She didn't know what there was to do here. Guess she'd find out.
Letting the navy blue vera bradly suitcase roll behind her, the wheels making a thudding noise against the ground, Dawn walked down the sidewalk, heading away from the airport. She wasn't sure where she would go yet. Probably a hotel. She didn't have the cash for anywhere too fancy. The thought to call one of her friends did occur but then again, she really didn't know who was in Chicago. Mostly everyone had gone their seperate ways once the Hellmouth closed. Willow and Kennedy had gone to Brazil. Andrew to Rome. Giles was in England while Xander, Buffy and her had been in Scotland. That was what she heard though anyways. Last time she checked in with any of her friends, besides the ones in Scotland, was months ago. Much to her regret. But it was. So she had to wonder who was in Chicago now. If anyone was. But since the only other known Hellmouth was in Chicago she had to imagine that there were others here... Dawn wondered if Buffy called any of them to let them know that she was here. With Buffys overprotective attitude, she knew that she might have. But she didn't see anyone here so, maybe she hadn't? Maybe Buffy was finally trusting her on her own?

Okay part of this whole thing was that Faith wasn't going to be playing beck and call girl for Buffy Summers anymore. Let the golden girl play the big General overseas, and Faith could get on with her life. She was just built for slaying. The whole social worker thing was new to her and even though Giles assured her she could handle it.
So far, it was just a couple of girls showing up so she had time to adjust. They all did. So that night, she was looking forward to some slaying. Maybe some dancing if it was slow. She was not expecting a call from Buffy Summers. Let alone an argument over how to ask for a favor and who she could give orders to. Really, was it too much to ask that she be treated like a person? She wasn't taking orders, this wasn't boot camp. Seriously it wasn't like she'd just let the kid wander around anyway, all she needed was a please instead of a 'do it!'
Really, why did she call last minute anyway? Talk about priorities. Not that Dawn hadn't learned a few tricks to hold her own and all. Hellmouth and all. Shoving her stake in her waist band she headed out to find her and make sure she got where she was going. As ordered.
It didn't take long, Dawn wasn't exactly being subtle what with those wheels just echoing on the street. With a shake of the head she ran behind her and around a building to step out in front of her farther ahead. "Seriously? The suitcase is like saying, 'here's some free stuff!' around here. Where you headed kid?"

Dawn walked down the sidewalk in thought. Thinking of where to go. Maybe... Her thoughts were cut off as she heard a all too familiar voice. Stopping in her tracks, Dawn turned around to look at who spoke. "Faith?" It was confirmed. There was no doubt that that was Faith. It hadn't been that long since she last saw her. And her choice of outfits never seemed to change too much. She was surprised though to see her, of all people.
"I, um, just got here... What are you doing here?" She asked. A frown then tugged at the corner of her lips. Had Buffy called her? And, and why her? Dawn didn't hate Faith, she just... didn't like her much was all. Sure Faith had helped them with the potential slayers and the closing of the Hellmouth, but she still held a bit of a grudge from what happened when Faith had first come to Sunnydale. No matter how good Faith acted, that wasn't something the brunette could let go easily.
Dawn didn't understand what she was doing here though. She had heard that Faith was in Chicago, yeah, but had Buffy really told her that she was here? Or... did Buffy trust her now? It was hard to tell with those two.

Faith shrugged and held her hands out to the side as if showing no weapons as much as saying it was really her. "That would be me. Kind of my town now."
Once she caught up she shoved her hands into her leather jacket. She didn't expect a warm greeting. She stopped expecting to belong a long time ago. Buffy had her friends, and those that were labeled such could get away with murder. Literally. The rest of them, were shit out of luck. She'd honestly been surprised that Giles had opened to her at all. Angel understood. Spike sort of, but last she saw him he was still walking on egg shells for Buffy's sake.
"Need some help with that? Yeah, before you ask, big sis called. All bug up her ass and shit. Said I'd play escort, whether you like it or not. So where to, kid?"
She wouldn't bring up the fact that Buffy hadn't exactly asked but ordered, that was Faith's problem to deal with.

Dawn watched as Faith held out her hands. Okay, so no weapons as far as she could see. Good, good... she had kind of expected a weapon though. A stake at the least. Either way Dawn wasn't worried about weapons with Faith. Weapon or not, she knew that the slayer could take her down easily.
Waiting for the older woman to catch up, Dawn then fell in step besides her. She turned her head slightly, glancing at Faith. So Buffy had called her. Great. She hated that Buffy didn't trust her enough to be on her own. Hmph. Next thing she knew Buffy would be coming here herself.
"So Buffy asked you to escort me? Or watch over me?" She asked. She then thought about what she asked. If Faith was here, then it would be because of the supernatural activities going on here. Exactly why she had come here. So she guessed that she'd be seeing alot of her either way.

Faith laughed and reached for the suitcase. Buffy had no idea what this kid was like. She just wanted her to fall in line like everyone else. Dawn wasn't about to take shit from anyone. Not even Faith and the dark haired slayer was more than sure that big sis had told her all about big bad Faith and what she was capable of.
"Chill kid. She said escort. I'm sure she'll do the whole calling to check in thing but no big. You're old enough to be on your own. Walking alone at night in a big city not withstanding, figure you're smart enough to take care of yourself."
She paused in step and glanced around. "Soooo, you didn't make reservations somewhere. Don't have a dorm or anything? Right, well you can have a room at the new place for a night or two if you need to. There's only a couple of girls so far. If you're up for it." She added with a shrug. The place was kind of loose in how things ran. she wasn't Buffy and wasn't going to try to be. There wasn't a curfew, or anything like that. There weren't strict classes or anything like that. Some girls might want a job of their own, go to school, she understood that being a slayer didn't mean you stopped being a person. She took a more, individual, approach to the girls that Giles sent her way.

Dawn smiled slightly at Faiths words. None of the scoobies seemed to think that she could really take care of herself. A fact that got on her nerves. But even when she wasn't that fond of Faith, it was nice to hear her say that. At least someone thought that she could look after herself. Now only if Buffy thought that. Then Dawns life would be great.
She thought about her offer. She wasn't sure about staying with more potentials. She already had enough of them in Scotland. Potential slayers were a handful. And loud. Nosy. It seemed like they always caused some kind of trouble. But, till she found a new place to stay, it couldn't hurt. "Okay,.. but just for a day or two." She said with a nod.

Faith nodded and then inclined her head to the left. "This way. Giles picked the place. There's like, tons of floors. Hell you can have one of those suites so you don't even have to deal with anyone."
She waited for Dawn to start following. She looked her over. Yeah there were definitely similarities with her and B but she looked enough of her own person to not be a constant reminder. So good news there. "We're pretty laid back. No morning classes, group meals, curfews or any of that shit. So you know, do your thing. Just let me know when the room opens again. So, what has you checking the place out? Unless B just sent you as a little spy and is playing us against each other. So not a good idea." she added with a quick look.
She wouldn't put it past the blonde slayer, but she was really hoping not. Faith didn't need more enemies, but this was her gig. Giles assured her it was all on her. As nervous as that might make her, what with all the responsibility and stuff, it was hers and she was planning on protecting it.

"Really? That be great!" Dawn smiled. She didn't want to have to deal with the potentials if she didn't have too. She wanted to keep her privacy. It was hard to have that when everyone was going in and out of your room all the time.
She walked after Faith as she listened to her talk about the place. It, actually sounded like a very good deal. No curfew. No group meals. No classes or anything. This place had alot of differences from Buffys in Scotland. So far, Dawn thought that she'd really like it here. She was tired of being on a leash, figurativly speaking. Actually having some freedom was nice for a change. I need to get away from Buffy more often. She thought to herself.
"What?" Dawn blinked. She looked at the slayer surprised that she'd think that. Did she really think that she'd be here as a spy?.. she could see Buffy doing that though. "N-No. I came here because I wanted to help. With the hellmouth here and all the supernatural stuff going on, I thought that I could help."

Faith shrugged. "Yeah, the place still needs some work but Giles did good. There's the rooms for the girls, room mates and all, then the staff suites have some more privacy. It's not a bad deal."
She was totally aware of how different it was to Buffy's almost militant style. The truth was Faith hadn't found her own style yet. She figured she had time. She wanted to work with the girls sent to her, not work them over. Believe it or not, her main role models were her first watcher, Angel and Wesley. Well the first time she'd met him, even the second, but after. He'd changed, so had she and she liked to think they'd come to some sort of common ground. You know, before.
She stopped when Dawn started stammering and laughed, even tossed her arm over her shoulders. "Chill kid. Just thought I'd ask. FYI? Tell sis that if she does ever want to use you to spy, you suck. You eat yet? We have food but, it's mostly left over pizza. No one is big on cooking yet."

Dawn relaxed, slightly. Her muscles tensed a bit in surprise when Faith put her arm over her shoulders. She glanced at Faith. "Huh?" A frown spread on her lips. "I'd be a good spy. I can be a very good one." She said defensivly. Whether it was true or not she was going to be defensive about it.
She walked alongside her. "No, not yet. The food on the plane sucked." It was true! Airline food was terrible. Unless you flew first class of course but she didn't have that kind of cash. "Pizza's fine." She was used to having left over pizza so it was good to her.

Faith smirked. OH yes, she'd be a great spy. "Sure you would kid. With all that, wandering around the street alone, and stuff."
Not that spy work was really all that helpful to them. At least Faith didn't think so. She still saw things as pretty straight forward. Find it, kill it. Who needed spy work?
Their footsteps echoed and she was pretty sure that anything she'd be after were long gone by now. The two women making more than enough noise in warning.
Turning a corner she nodded up ahead. "There it is. Not much to look at but I think that works out. Got a preference for height? You know, third floor and up or you want main floor?"

Dawn frowned. "I wasn't 'wandering'. I was... still deciding... on where I was going to go." She wasn't sure how that didn't classify as wandering but in her head right now it didn't! Right now... yeah she decided to shut up now.
She followed the older slayer to the place. Her footsteps echoing along with hers. It didn't take long to get there. She looked up at the building. She was surprised. It was bigger than she thought it be. Huh. Bigger was better though. Especially with how many slayers must be inside... that thought almost made her shudder. Oi, more slayers. "Um, one of the top floors?" She wasn't a fan of heights but when it came to tall buildings she liked to be on a top floor. It was cool to look out at the city from them.

Faith just shrugged it off. Even if Dawn was just wandering around aimlessly Faith didn't think she'd get herself into too much trouble. Buffy on the other hand, would throw a fit. So she probably just wouldn't mention it. Pulling the suitcase up to the door she opened it for Dawn and jerked her chin inside. "Not a lot done up on the third floor, but we'll check and see if one of the bigger rooms is done at least. Food first, I'm starving!"
She followed her inside and set her suitcase to the side before checking the office for keys. Grabbing one she tossed it to her. "There you go kid. Food with labels is off limits. Don't eat a slayer's food. Bad news. There's always stuff though."

Dawn nodded agreeing. "Me too." She hadn't ate anything since getting on the plane. She looked around the area, her eyes wandering over it curiously. It didn't look bad to her, much better than a lousy hotel.
Hearing Faith she turned around to face her. She blinked barely catching the keys that were thrown. She looked down at them in her hands then at Faith. "Okay, no food with labels. Got it." She didn't want to piss off any slayers here, for the main reason that they were slayers. People that were much stronger than her. It wasn't the kind of person you really wanted to make upset. Buffy was the exception though. At times Dawn would get her angry out of spite or to get back at her for getting her mad in the first place.
"So where's the kitchen?" Dawn glanced around the main area. It was a big place so she was sure that she'd have to familiarize with everything... oh! A thought sprung in her head. She had frgot all about it. "Hey, you said Giles helped with this place. Is he here?" She liked Giles. He was nice, kind of like a father to her.
